Ruth Children, adults with disabilities show their world view through art

No one taught Joe Flasch about the use of pattern in painting. Harold Jeffries doesn't know cool colors from warm hues. Yet these artists make use of both in creating the art now on display at the Elmhurst Art Museum.

David, Congratulations on your monumental appointment!
NOW for the suggestion: That EACH NOW Waiver Housing Group can understand the importance of having an emergency package for each client in its SIL for emergencies. Here in New Orleans, my son's NOW Waiver group only considers hurricanes as a time for emergency kits.
They do have an emergency kit (what about special needs??) for each home; however, it's at the MAIN office.
If one looks at the Homeland Security (HLS) regulations, it should be in the HOME, not the office.
In the event of an emergency situation... the clients in the house will not have the items they need.... Read More
They do not take this seriously ... saying they can't imagine another emergency ... we live in OIL country and it is a reason for HLS regulations to have concerns ...
This is not sensationalism ... it's real ... just look at Ft. Hood.
It can happen anywhere/anytime.

As much as I LOVED Wednesday's episode of Glee, I can't help but think that an actor who really uses a wheelchair would have been a better choice for a character who uses a wheelchair.

Speaking of, have you ever noticed that Downs Syndrome is the only disability that's never played by someone without Downs Syndrome?
