This is a reminder to all candidates for state office and their principal campaign committees that pursuant to Alabama Code § 17-5-7 (b) (2), they may not accept, solicit, or receive contributions as of 12:01 AM on January 12th due to the start of the 2010 Regular Legislative Session. (See Ala. Att’y. Gen. Op. No. 94-00228)
Secretary of State Beth Chapman has been nominated for an Innovative Alabama Governments Award. The award is given by Auburn University Montgomery’s Center for Government and Public Affairs and the Center for Advanced Technologies. This year, Chapman was nominated in the Digital Government Innovation category on the state level due to her continued development of website capabilities to better serve the public.
Secretary of State Beth Chapman announced today she and her staff will be collecting phone cards on behalf of wounded soldiers.
