Pamela I am Canadian and wanted to share that in my city- near Toronto- we are having a caregiver expo of more than 60 exhibitors. This is a Free event 10-5pm Nov. 21st and it's sponsored by Shoppers Home Health care. Do you have such events in your area to help those who care for loved ones still at home?

I have become more involved with Alzheimer's Society because I am a fan of Kate Mulgrew's, and followed her horrible ordeal with her mother. (She is now a spokesperson for Alzheimer's.) I was inspired by one of her recent speeches in Minnesota and put together artwork about Alzheimer's. I would like to share the ar...twork with the Alzheimer's Society but don't know how to go about it. I would like some info on how to do that. Anything I can do, even if it's just bringing awareness thru my art. Thanks.Read More

Hi, as you are based in Minnesota you would probably have the best luck approaching the Alzheimer's Association who are based in the US: http://www.alz.org/index.asp

I've read up on this and spoke with Pat's doctor. He says it won't improve anything but will prolong the decline.

My father swtiched from Aricept to Reminyl and is now also on Memantine aka: Ebixa. He's advanced 2ndary stage and while his STM is gone, he still is functioning rather at a stable level.

My father went on Respiridone in late Aug. 2007. He was hit by a car then and had bad paranoia and made threats at home. The Respiridone calmed him right down. He is still at home with us and takes it now on occasion not regularly. Ask your doctor about this med aka: Respiridol, I believe.

Pip

Pip Hi, I have just joined your group. My wonderful mum June has Alzheimers. She is very ill now, she has had it for about 13 years. My dad still cares for her at home and does a fabulous job - I am exceptionally proud of him. The Alzheimers Society in Basingstoke have been a great support in times of need for all of us. It is hard because I don't have much time with my dad to just talk. Pip
