Aditya Balani Group is a Boston based World-Jazz ensemble, bringing together talented musicians from countries across the globe, like India, Spain, Serbia and Chile and US.
Aiming for true artistic expression and drawing from their ethnic roots each musician adds a unique colour to their sound which is an exciting blend... of the spontaneity and harmonic interplay of Jazz with the sheer intensity of melodies and rhythms influenced by Indian Classical/Folk music, and various other musical traditions of the world.
The band is going on their second tour of the Indian sub-continent in early January 2010, featuring Aaron Bahr on trumpet, Will Cafaro on bass, Tarun Balani on drums , Sharik Hasan on piano, and Aditya Balani on fretless/fretted guitars.This tour is a collaborative effort by the American Center, Berklee College of Music and Performers Collective.

American Center New Delhi Epic saga of the legendary Queen's reign from the time Julius Caesar arrived in Egypt until her death some 18 years later. Cleopatra is portrayed as a schemer, firstly to gain control over the Egyptian kingdom from her brother with whom she ruled jointly. Having gained the confidence of Caesar, they become lovers and s...he bears him the son he never had. Her attempts at ensuring that the boy takes his rightful place in Rome are thwarted when Caesar is assassinated and she flees back to Egypt. Many years later Marc Antony, now responsible for the eastern half of the Roman Empire, seeks an alliance with Egypt. He and Cleopatra become lovers and form a military alliance but are forced to retreat after losing a major naval encounter at Actium. Both eventually take their own lives.

American Center New Delhi In 2006, George W. Bush, President of the United States, visited India. In addition to the many diplomatic and political things on the agenda was a rather unique event - a meeting with one of the young faces responsible for shaping "The New India". The six contestants are Maya Roy India's best young Writer, Ajay Karlek...ar India's best young Social Activist, Archana Kapoor India's best young Indian Entrepreneur, Rohit Seth Call Center Accent Trainer, Kapil Dev Dholakia India's best young Stock Investor, Ramesh S Software Engineer. Maya Roy (Konkona Sen Sharma) is one of the 6 contestants in the talent contest, who will stop at nothing to be the person to represent New India in front of the visiting US President, George Bush. They have to undergo bizarre test and activities to top the list. In the end only two are left Kapil and Maya. Kapil is caught cheating in the final round and Maya is selected. But with bizarre turn of events she is not the one who shakes the hand.

Under the influence of the oppressive Roman Empire, the land seeths with talk of revolt, and Caesar has sent more soldiers to quell the potential uprising. The new Tribune Messala (Stephen Boyd) once lived in Judea as a boy, an...d longs to rekindle his old friendship with Judah, but when they meet it is obvious that Messala has been changed by the years he has been away, fighting the enemies of the Empire. He is harsh and calculating, driven by ambition, and eager to prove himself to Caesar. Asking Judah for help in rounding up the local dissenters, they argue, and when Judah refuses to betray his own people Messala declares that they must be either friends or enemies, and leaves in anger.
