the guitar is my 1960 reissue. it was previously set up. it had a fret dress, the nut filed down a little, groved, etc. and the action, intonation, pickup height, pole pieces. but to tell you the truth, i liked it better before. Hey Axe, its a lot. When I'm not touring or on a session in an LA studio, I'm at my guitar shop working on projects. On a typical day, up to 10 clients visit (by appointment) for guitar, bass, amp or pedalboard service; to try a new amp or pedal; get advice on tone; order pickups or speakers; get an insurance appraisal, or purchase a guitar, cable, strings, tubes, pickups or some other item. In addition, several people might drop by to say "hi - I was in the neighborhood and wanted to bring you a coffee and show you my new mandolin" or "just got back from tour -- let me tell you what happened" or some such.

Then there are the truly full plate days (a few times per month) when twice as many people come by, some bringing in multiple items for set up and intonation. On those days there is quite an astonishing flow of guitarists and their electric guitars, acoustics, basses, banjos, mandolins and amps of all types in and out. lol.

In addition to LA-based clients, players from every state send guitars to me for service and customization. These "invisible" clients often request my special Conversion for their beloved guitar, especially for Gibson Les Pauls. In addition to stringed instruments, many amps are shipped to me for repair or modification. Items are tended to and shipped back.... See More

In the heyday of backline rentals; storage and cartage at my old shop on Weddington Street (Andy Brauer Studio Rentals), dozens of people might come by daily for this or that. We were constantly checking gear in or out and also delivering gear around LA in our trucks and setting it up for what are now considered to be historic sessions.

So Axe Man, are you coming to visit soon?
