I need a good, long dose of ASU in the summertime, like I used to have when I was a student there. I took summer courses, so that I could stay in Boone for the summer. Summers there are WONDERFUL- with the kind of healing I'm desperate for right now- nowhere any prettier on the face of the planet-

It's amazing where you can find "Appalachian" in the most random places at times. Here you can find where Appalachian's Health Leisure & Exercise Science Department was referenced in a study for FRS, a product that both Derek Fisher and Lance Armstrong publicly endorse. Scroll down on the FRS page to look at "Study #3".

I heard Dr. Sherlen from the Political Science dept on NPR while I was driving home from work in Breckenridge, Colorado. I had a few of her classes and it was cool to hear her on the radio.

Emmie at 9:41am June 18
Oh, gosh, I loved the Political Science classes I took at ASU! I can't remember this professor's name(it's been a good, long while!) but he had been the campaign mgr. for Maynard Jackson, the first black mayor of Atlanta- gosh, that class was so interesting and so intellectually stimulating. Thanks for reminding me of that! Wish I had head Dr. Sherlen on NPR!

That's great- when I was there in the Education Dept., the professors were good, but the practicums were not- but I'm sure that they are now, as I graduated in '75! Plus, the Special Educ. dept. was terrific, as was the Speech Path! I have my masters' in Speech Path now, but feel like I learned by far most of my knowledge at ASU! GREAT school!!! I will always be proud to say that that's where I got my undergrad!

That would be my luck.To find this historic old as the hills skeleton, only to have it infected with leprosy. Gosh, I hope they wore gloves! I tell ya, I don't trust any germs these days- but, no, I'm not OCD about it like Howie Mandel- just REALLY aware that if I catch something like that swine flu, I could be a statistic.
