There is plenty of time to train for a half by May of 2010 - and then also run the Applefest in the fall of 2010 - this is a great half marathon with wonderful support and amazing scenery. You can find training plans online that are free and just follow the plan. Most are 12 week plans - personally I like Hal Higdons - he has a first time half, intermediate half and advanced half plan. Good luck. Hope to see you in the fall of 2010 at Applefest!

Jaime

Jaime Does anyone know who sang the National Anthem? We were so far away, we couldn't tell if it was live or not.

Most folks only hear the youtube version of the National Anthem sung by the five 6th and 8th graders from the Cactus Jr High in Lubbock TX. That version, while good, is recorded before a Texas tech basketball game in a gym.

However if you buy the $.99 version from Itunes you get a crystal clear version that most of those at a race think is live... See More.

If you are lucky enough to hear it again at a race, you will notice that it is so moving that there is dead silence while it's being played and unlike most of the time nobody starts cheering (and interrupting) until it's over.

We don't have a firm date for 2010 yet. We need to fit the date into the Hollis-Brookline school calendar. It will be several weeks before we know for sure.
