Q: How do I add pins to my map?
A: You have three options for adding pins to your map: You may look up city names in the search box above the map; check off cities from the list of popular cities to the right side of the map; or zoom in on the map and then click in an area near the city you wish to add.
Q: Why is the destination I want to pin not available?
A: The Cities I've Visited application primarily supports cities, towns and national parks. Sorry, but you won’t be able to pin countries, states, island groups or any larger regions. Please be specific when searching for a destination.
Q: I see a city I want to pin, but I can't pin it. What gives?
A: The Cities I've Visited map is a mashup between TripAdvisor and Google Maps. The labeled places that you see are provided by Google Maps, but the actual pinning functionality was created by TripAdvisor. In order for a city to show up as a pin on your map, that city has to be part of TripAdvisor's destination database.
Q: Why can't I see my pinned map on my profile page?
A: When you add the application, you have the option of allowing the Cities I've Visited map to show up on your profile page. If you're not seeing a personalized map after you've added cities, please check your application settings.
Q: I want to pin a city that's not on there. How can I add it?
A: Click here for steps on how to suggest a city for us to add! Our content editors will research all destinations requested prior to adding them, so we just ask that you please be patient.
