Board numbering
by Samuel at 12:22pm on May 2nd, 2008
Only two real problems I have: Firstly, the board being numbered 1-19 and 1-19 is confusing. People don't know which spot I'm talking about. They don't know if I'm saying the horizontal number or the vertical one first. It should be numbered 1-19 on one side and a-t (no i) on the other. That's what most of us computer go-players are used to. Secondly, the scoring system doesn't make any sense and it doesn't turn out right when you have to play a million moves to capture a dead group. It's not even worth capturing them sometimes. When playing against the computer, it just needs to find a way to mark dead groups.
That's a three out of five. Fix these issues and you have a five star Go program! ^_^
Has improved, only minor enhancements now needed.

The addition of negotiated scoring is a large improvement. The ability to go over the game move by move afterward makes it possible to assemble SGF files after the game is over. This takes a bit of effort so it's not quite as good as an SGF export function, but it does give the same possibilities for reviewing games.

It would be nice to be able to set komi, but this is not essential. The option of Japanese rules would also be nice, but also not essential.

Overall, thanks for making this available. It only needs a bit of polishing to move up to 5 stars, I think.
Playing against.... myself

By viewing your public profile it is possible to challenge yourself to a match, but this doesn't really work since you can only play one side.
I would say to either remove the possibility of challenging yourself or allow you to play both sides in such an instance. Probably it would be easiest from a design viewpoint simply to add a check that would prevent you from challenging yourself.
Weird Counting
by Shawn at 1:56pm on April 9th, 2008
not bad... annoying that unless you join all your stones up and kill all stones in your area, your large territory doesnt count!!! i won by approx 150 points but somehow, GnuGo won by 14?????????????
counting...

so it is possible for players to sum up their game...
Counting problems

The program is nice overall, but I whooped GnuGo and it told me after we both passed that GnuGo won by MORE POINTS THAN I COUNTED FOR IT ON THE BOARD. Very silly.
works ok

it's great to have a go app on facebook -- many thanks for that, and for all the hard work that's gone into it

would be great to see the following updates - komi, undo, sgf export, Japanese counting, permanent last move indication, alpha-numeric coordinates, instant points table updates. points algorithm details, more than 20 games stored, GnuGo games replayable, FAQ

i've read about the problems with implementing some of these, but it's good to aim high lol

it needs a little improvement
by Hoon at 3:36pm on March 15th, 2008
it's not easy getting used to the chinese rules once you
have been playing by the japanese and korean rules all your
life. plus the last move by your opponent should be easier
to see. it's a hassle to press the last move botton almost all the time

Hey, the games are interesting, which makes me feel a little ashamed, as I created a flash game website myself, which is http://www.flashgameszone.net/
Well, I have to say the games on my website are not as good as yours. Would you be kind enough to give me some tips? I do hope I could make some improvements. Thank you!

I wish the boards were numbered 1-19 on one side and labled a-t on the other.

All of my games that say "delete" next to them, which have been dormant for months, will not allow me to delete them due to "too many moves being played". I wish to tidy my cue.

Anyone else had this problem "Response failed.TypeError: img is null" when trying to play your move ? Gets a little annoying after a while.

Thanks
