About Greeenbook

Facebook uses energy, which puts CO2 in the air. Greenbook helps reduce that CO2... so we can all do our part for the planet, in one more way!

Very pleased to see that greenbook is functioning well again, and I like the new site ! Keep up the great work, and also support Care2. com for similar causes.

when I click on "Read More" to see the rest of a green idea, I get taken to the wrong page. It's just a blank greenbook page.

The 'Inconvenient Truth' is a pack of lies, and this app is a con.

Watch the Inconvenient Truth, because it is all truth. I will admit Mr. Gore is a bit of a hypocrite, But still, the way the earth is warming as co2 levels rise is a very uncanny coincidence if they have nothing to do with each other. Mr. Dawson, you claim that ice ages have happened before as part of the worlds natural cycle right? Well first what happened to the majority of the living things during that ice age? Secondly, they way scientists have time lined these past cycles shows that we are out of the pattern, by a long shot. You also state, in utter ignorance, that producing electric cars cause as much pollution as driving non electric cars. I suggest you do some research before you even begin to think.

Miss. Flaherty, which scientists found this fact out? Are they payed off by neo- conservatives? Because I can only imagine a bogus sounding fact like that only be a result of pretense. Also, if I was to believe everything I hear, I'd have to believe you, and i just can't bring myself to that level.
Global warming LOL!!

It is said that it is the hottest since records began. When did records begin? 19th century about, certainly not when time began. Scientists have found that during the medieval period it were in fact about 100 times hotter than we are now, followed by a mini ice age. And we're still alive. Yes pollution won't help but warming is due to the natural cycle of the sun and the earth. In 2012 the sun will release sunspots, perhaps barbequing some satalites if they're unlucky, then we carry on as normal. There is no doomsday *you need to gow up if you truly believe in that btw*. Look into it properly instead of believing everything you hear.
All misunderstood

Gas prices have over quadrupled in the past seven years, and we can point the blame finger to ourselves or to the government, but we really have nothing to complain about. The United States has the THIRTEENTH lowest gas prices in the world, and that is after countries like Saudi Arabia and Argentina (both of which have vast amounts of domestic fuel reserves at their fingertips). And considering that all of the gas we consume is shipped over to us in one way or another gas prices aren't that bad. People (conservatives) argue that we should get over the hippie/liberal ideal of not drilling for oil in national wildlife preserves (ANWR), and I agree with that completely. May I ask, why the hell are we are pleading for countries to stop developing nuclear weapons programs, when we are the dumb-asses funding it? We need to find a reliable, renewable fuel sources (not ethanol), but until then, we need to utilize the resources that us Americans have. Its not going to hurt the environment to displace a couple of animals out of their homes to supply the American population with some freaking oil.
something to think about

we do need to keep polution to a minimum im all for that. but what do we know of earths natural cycles? we have maybe 100 years to go by if that of proper temp records and where are these being taken from? cities are bigger and hold in heat more than they did years ago. the sea currents are slowing and changing courses which makes a huge difference to the worlds climate. the sun has had over the last 10 to 15 years a mega increase in the size and number of sunspots, these increase our temp here and screw with the magnetic fields. and one last little bit of info for all to think about the ice caps on mars are melting at the same ratwe as those on earth!!!!! polution does indeed have far reaching effects
global warming is a myth
by Michael at 9:30am on June 26th, 2008
there is no proof that CO2 causes global warming thats just what some bribed government scientists believe. an american report which came out the other day said that people above 40' longditude (i think) would benefit economically as well as socially as we would be able to make money out of resources and gain land and if you think america would say that then your wrong because their entire country is below the line. plus all you who believe so called "green" electric cars are good are wrong, how do we make the energy to run them, by burning fossil fuels so they dont actually make a difference. also the worlds tempreture changes all the time ever heard of the ice age i dont think there were millions of factories and fumes making the earth warmer then and strangely that went also before that the world was very hot so global warming is a myth.
Practicality/Rambling

Most pollution comes from nature, not us. Look it up - I'm not lying. But, we could do our part to reduce the very real effects of global warming. The weather here in Georgia was frickin' schizo at one point. It still gets that way. Also, the government and environmentalists have failed to alter the driving habits of people across the country. It's economists that control the gas prices, and therefore, the way of life of the average American Joe. Also, gas prices tend to inflate faster than oil prices. If the price of crude oil goes down (once $69, now $136), the prices for gas will most likely stay the same, because refiners and retailers will want to recoup their losses. Even if the search for black gold starts to look better, prices will still stay at the same all-time high for a long while. We might as well do as much as we can to help out with that giant gaping hole in that little thing called the ozone layer. It's more cost-effective, if you ask me.
