FAQ
Do I need to worry about my privacy when using Places?
For events, groups, and most current locations we use addresses that are already available. Some users may choose to enter a more accurate current location, in this case we urge you to use caution as anyone that can view your profile can see this. In any case all we do is put data that is already available or that you knowingly provide on a map. What countries do you support?
Currently we support Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The United Kingdom, and, of course, the United States. A note of caution, this may or may not change if we have to change our geocoding provider in the future. If you have problems in any of these countries, let us know. What browsers do you support?
The app is regularly tested and works in Internet Explorer 6+ and Firefox 1.5+. If you see any problems while using these browsers or if the app works in a browser we don't mention, please let us know. Safari and Opera do not work with the latest version of Places. Why doesn't a particular event or group show up?
Only groups, events, and current locations with valid city-level addresses are shown on the map, only events happening within 30 days are shown, and only the first 200 items are shown. If you notice a recurring issue that isn't covered here, we'd like to hear about it.Friends using this Application
