~ ~THANKSGIVING ~~
Believe it or not, not everyone is looking forward to Thanksgiving. As I was standing in line at the grocery store yesterday, I overheard someone behind me say they wished they had to work on Thanksgiving so they could avoid having to spend time with t...heir in-laws. No, I’m not making a joke, it was true.
Why do some people have such a negative feeling about such a positive holiday?....It would seem there are plenty of people who go through life looking only at the disappointments, or the painful experiences refusing to see the blessings that surround many of life's challenges.... I don't know who should receive the credit for the following witticism to but I agree with its underlying philosophy. "As you travel down life's pathway, may this ever be your goal...keep you eye on the donut, and not on the hole."
The first Thanksgiving took place in the midst of some of the worst trials imaginable for those who braved the crossing of the Atlantic to begin a new life in the new world. One hundred and two pilgrims landed at Plymouth in December of 1620.... Less than six months later only fifty-five were still alive. Their chances of survival rested fully upon the fruit of the fall harvest......When that harvest was fully gathered Edward Winslow wrote these words, "...although it be not always so plentiful as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want that we often wish you partakers of our plenty."
There in the middle of devastating circumstances with their very lives hanging on the quality of the harvest that small band of believers were able to praise God for what they believed were His abundant blessings........King David understood this principle when he wrote Psalm 103. David begins by exalting the name of the Lord and by encouraging himself to remember who God is and what He has done. "Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name. Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all His benefits."
The key to an attitude of thanksgiving that transcends the season is our ability to remember the blessing of our God. David emphasizes the fact we must respond to God in a personal way. We must personally bless the Lord as we remember His goodness......Jesus understood this principle well for John's Gospel records that before Jesus multiplied the loaves and the fish to feed the five thousand, He lifted his eyes toward heaven and gave thanks for what He had in His hand.
I am afraid if I had been holding nothing but a few loaves, and a few small fish I probably would have been too focused on my lack of supply to be thankful for what God had already supplied.....When our praise becomes personal it does so because we are consumed with an attitude of thanksgiving for what we have rather than focusing on what we need.
Those blessings are profound, in that they are blessings that proceed from the soul. Being thankful for our blessings should proceed from the very fiber of our being. It isn't the mere material and temporary blessings that David is speaking about but rather the eternal blessings that flow from God who is eternal......Tomorrow, as we sit around a bountiful table surrounded by the blessings of God, let us not forget all His benefits.....and lets be eternally THANKFUL !!!!

~ ~The Thanksgiving Joy of Harvest !~~
The term "harvest" appears frequently in Scripture, as the people of the Bible lived in an agricultural society. At Thanksgiving, the imagery of harvest frames our own nation's history, inspiring us with things reflective of Early Amer...ica. Yet Thanksgiving is about more than that.
It is a call for us to celebrate not only God's provision and restoration, but also His promise and presence--even amid delays, restricting circumstances, or tears. Thanksgiving also calls us to constancy, for the journey to harvest will usually be harder than we think, longer than we expect, and more rewarding than we can ever imagine.
Scripture says, "Though weeping may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning" (Ps. 30:5).
For many of us, it's been a demanding year. But as you and I come to Thanksgiving, the joy of celebration makes everything else incidental. When we finally see the harvest, it no longer matters how tough things were, how much time they took, or how heavy the pressures were. What's important is that we have answered the call to staying in faith.
You should be singing songs of rejoicing as a celebration of God's purpose through and beyond trials. It is a reminder to us that triumph ultimately outlasts trial. And the triumph is on its way. Even if we can't see what God is doing, there's evidence in our hearts that He will be faithful. This song are an invitation to constancy of focus--to go forth with sacks of seed, not just one.
So today, ask yourself: What are you sowing?...Even with the wind in my face, the sand in my eyes, the weeping from circumstance or adversity, we must keep sowing the promises of God. Not as one who is mindless or superstitious, but as one who knows that the God who makes a promise to His people never forgets it.
God has done more things of love and goodness in our lives than any of us can imagine. When you face the thing that hasn't happened yet, keep sowing ~ AND ~ With a heart of Thanksgiving, find joy in the harvest that it is to come !

~ ~ Everyday Is Thanksgiving !~~
Often some of us at this time of year, we start to put a lot more of the emphasis on Christmas. We start planning what we will go purchase on Friday after Thanksgiving, as merchants compete for our attention. We start becoming preoccupied... with putting up the lights, trimming the tree, buying presents, and so on. In the process of it all, lets be honest, we forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving as we worry more about what we are going to prepare along with the turkey, the Macy’s parade or the football game.
At this particular time of year we can sometimes forget about how thankful we ought to be. We need to never forget that God has blessed us to live, in my opinion, in the greatest country on the face of the earth, the United States of America. We have so many privileges here that we need to give a lot of thanks for.....In 1863 Thanksgiving was proclaimed as a national Thanksgiving Day by President Abraham Lincoln, it initially was a religious holiday and, more to the point, a “CHRISTIAN ” holiday that today it has lost its true meaning.
The Bible urges us to give thanks to the Lord...... We are told in Psalm 106:1, "Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever" .....Colossians 3:17 says, "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him"....... Then in Hebrews 13:15, we read, "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name"
To some during this thanksgiving worshiping can indeed be a sacrifice. Why? Because we don't feel like it. It may be because we are down, depressed or things aren't going all that well for us. Maybe we are experiencing hardship or a tragedy has struck, and we don't want to thank God...... But Psalm 106:1 doesn't say, "Give thanks to the Lord because you feel good." It says, "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good."
We are quick to ask for help, but we are slow in returning thanks. Yet we should be just as definite in giving thanks to God as we are in requesting help from Him. As a result, there are at least 3 things about giving thanks that we Christians need to know.
#1..... to give thanks, we must recognize that God is in control of all circumstances surrounding our lives, both good and bad. Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" ......God is paying attention to what is going on in our lives. And He knows what you are going through right now.
#2.... we must realize that God loves us and is always looking out for our eternal benefit, even if what we are presently going through is difficult. As 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal"
#3.... we must realize that God is wiser than we are. He is always dealing with us for our best eternal good, where in contrast, we are always interested in what is for our temporary good. But sometimes what is good for us eternally is not easy for us temporarily. God will make that determination and work in our lives accordingly.
When was the last time you said...Lord, thank you ? ..Thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sins...Thank You that He rose again...Thank You that my life, which was once filled with guilt, is now filled with Your purpose and peace...
Each one of us has so much more to give thanks for....So, I ask, have you been thanking God ?..... Let's not wait until Thursday, as Christians, every day should be Thanksgiving for us. !!!

*.-``*:-...Come Out Of The Closet !...*.-``*:-
And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:20 (KJV)
God has been so good to you that you shouldn't be a closet Christian. On the contrary, you should preach everywhere that Jesus is L...ord. ! Everybody on the job should know you are saved, because you don't hide your Christianity. If you hide your Christianity the Bible says; “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:33)
You should not be ashamed or afraid to bow your head and pray over your lunch. With all God has done for you, and still He will continue to do for you; you should almost take a pulpit in the lunch room, and preach instead of eating because God has been so good to you. I am not telling you to do that of course. I'm just making a point of how thankful we should be at all times for being redeemed with the precious blood of Christ. Even if the only thing God would ever do for us ~ sending Jesus to avoid that we spend eternity in hell.
Always keep in mind that you are Gods child. So, when you get the chance to tell somebody about the power of the Word and the Blood, TAKE it. When you get a chance to tell them how good God has been for you TAKE it. If you are rejected at least you tried, Jesus was rejected as well. Why should you do this ? Think about it for a moment, you might just be the only one they have that might make the difference between going to heaven or going to hell. You are their only hope.
So, come out of the closet !

The Word of God
*.-``*:-...Who Will You Listen To ?...*.-``*:-
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 1 John 5:9 (KJV)
All right, which way will it be ? Shall we listen to men, or shall we listen to God ? That's easy. We will listen to God bec...ause His witness is greater than men's witness. God's witness or God's word says "that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us... And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." (1 John 5:14-15)
Some of you wonder why God is not answering your prayers. Could it be that it is not a prayer of belief but rather a prayer of hope. ? You just kind of threw something out there and hoped that something good would happen. ~ Thank God for His mercy ! Because there are times that the mercy of God will get involve in your life. And the situation will turn out in your favor, but let me tell you that you could not duplicate it if you wanted to, because you don't know how it was done. It was God's mercy.
God is merciful, but He requires that we grow up in Him. There are some things we have to know, and there is a voice ~ this is the voice of the word of God ~ we must listen to it. "If we know that he hears us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him." (1 John 5:15)
When you know that you have asked someone for something, and you know that they have given it to you, what do you say to them ? You thank them...... Giving thanks to God is a direct link to your FAITH in God. Example, if you are in a tough spot and you find your deliverance in the Word, then pray for that deliverance and thank the Father that you have it by faith, and you will see Him manifest Himself in your behalf. In Matthew 17:20 it says "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
Now, the only thing left to do after that is to thank God. It should not be asking God to deliver you today, then tomorrow, ask again, then the next day ask again, because you do not see a change. It should not matter whether you see a change or not. You have confidence and the FAITH that God is taking care of it, and the change is bound to appear. And this goes for everything you ask of Him.
The word of God is a higher witness than the witness that you can SEE. His word is the ultimate witness. Faith in the name of JESUS, faith in the power of His blood shed on the cross for you, and faith in the WORD will cause the manifestation of God in your life. His word clearly says “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” ( Hebrews 11:6)
Finally, the question is: Which witness will you listen to ? Listen to the witness of the word of God, for it tells of His provision for you. Or when men say it can not be done, God says it can. When men say you are finished, God says you can do all things through Christ.
Which witness will you listen to, small minded men un-believers faith crushers or decide on GOD ?

PART 2: I found this 2 testimonies posted ~ this will be very helpful to others.....I think every one suffering from "Clinical Depression" should read this:
Written by: Carolyn Jo Trudgen
I have heard that phrase "Snap Out Of It" so many times in the past few years, and I come to realize there are times that you j...ust can't snap out of it. I have been in counseling for 6 years now...chemical imbalance...major depression...bipolar disorder...it is a disease just like any other disease.
I have diabetes are you going to tell me to just ... snap out of it...but through the Grace of God I have come through it. I had unforgiveness in my heart where I was so hurt, bitter, and angry at a person, a church, and denomination...that God spoke to me about unforgiveness.
I was sinning and thought I was alright. I spent basically two years in bed...but praise God when I asked forgiveness and received forgiveness...I did just that...I snapped out of it. I gave my heart to the Lord 9 weeks ago. Do I still get sad...yes...but I don't stay that way. He renews my mind and my spirit. This was very fitting for me to hear today! But it is only through God's GRACE that a person can snap out of it !

Sin makes you sick. Sometimes, as in Carolyn Jo's case, we don't even know we are sinning. I am a licensed minister, Biblical counselor, and psychology major in my second year of my MA in counseling. She is correct, no amount of medications, etc. can make up for our sins or our lack of attention to feeding our spiritual dimension.
A human being ... dichotomy. Flesh and Spirit. We always feed and take care of our flesh daily, but it is when we neglect our spiritual selves, it bleeds over into our flesh, sometimes looking like depression, when if fact it is a spiritual problem. I see this all the time in counseling individuals.
We must feed our spirit daily by prayer, Bible reading, and worship. Coming into God's presence is healing. By the grace of God, I, too, have been delivered from depression in my past ! At the time, guess what....I was sinning and didn't realize the impact of my sin. Praise God for deliverance and healing !

•́ .•́ .~~~ Snap Out Of It !~~~.•́́ .•́
Philippians 3:13 ~ "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.."
Who stays depressed ? Those who choose to !
Some of you are majoring in your problem. All yo...u want to do is wade through the sewer of yesterday, remembering what happened to you back in 1942, 1980, 1990, yesterday or what ever day and time. I’m telling you in the name of Jesus Christ, FORGET it.
Think on things that are good and wholesome, that are honest and true ~and when you possess those thoughts, you will have a hope that is steadfast and sure. You won’t be thinking about your problems, you’ll be rejoicing in the solutions that Jesus Christ has given you on the authority of God’s word.
The Bible says, “Hope thou in God” (Psalm 42:5). “Have not I commanded thee ? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed” (Joshua 1:9). Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, rejoice,” Paul wrote (Philippians 4:4). You rejoice by choice. It’s something YOU decide TO DO. You MUST be willing to face the fact that your MENTAL attitude toward the circumstance, NOT the circumstance itself, is the cause of your unhappiness. Until you’re willing to admit that, you’re incurable and even God can’t help you because your mind must be renewed. [Are you recalling something called “free will” to choose and do what you want ?]
As difficult as it may be to understand, some tragedies reflect the long-range plan of God. We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and are according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). We must remember that He has a redemptive purpose for our pain and suffering.
It is NOT possible for the finite mind of a man to KNOW the infinite mind of God. The Bible says, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isa. 55:9).
The Crucifixion looked like a great tragedy. The blood-soaked body of Jesus, the promised Messiah, hung on a Roman cross- a portrait of shame and defeat. The disciples had scattered in terror. Those who remained near the cross could only look on in abject horror.....Can you imagine the pain felt by Mary (mother) ? Do you think that it was possible for Mary, (mother) to understand the full meaning of the cross at that moment ? .....God's long-range plan that had begun in the Book of Genesis was completed when Jesus said, "It is finished!"
Many things happen in our lives for which we have no answer. No words of explanation can comfort our hearts. Sometimes God does not make sense to us. In those times, we must trust the will of a sovereign God and know that He is too loving to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake. Someday we may understand. In the meantime, we must continue to trust and to believe that although the pain we feel is real, it is ONLY temporary.
I choose not to be depressed ~ for God still sits on His throne ~ He is and will always be God ~ to Him be the Glory !

The Word of God
*.-``*:-~~ Bitterness~~ *.-``*:-
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice” (Ephesians 4:31).
Bitterness is an extremely destructive force. It seeps into the depths of your heart when you choose not to forgive someone. Do you know that when you harbor unforgiveness,... it closes the door to God’s working in your life.?
The Bible even tells us that if we choose not to forgive others, God cannot even hear our prayers. Thank God that He has empowered us to forgive and release bitterness ! You have the choice to get rid of bitterness so you can live in peace and freedom !
You may have been through unfair situations, but it’s NOT over until God says it’s over. God always has the final say, and He is a God of justice. God sees every wrong that’s ever been done to you. He sees every unfair situation, and He will take care of it....it might not be today or tomorrow, but it will be done on His timing not yours. So, just be still and turn justice over to him and let go of the bitterness.
If you will stay in faith and keep your hopes up, He will make your wrongs right. He’ll bring justice into your life. Your attitude should be, “It may have been unfair. They may have done me wrong. But I refuse to get bitter. I know my time is coming and justice will be done.” If you allow bitterness to stay is like letting the other person control your life ~ BUT:
When you choose forgiveness and keep your thoughts focused on the Word of God, you will live in complete freedom and peace in your heart !

♥ Confronting = Caring = Confronting !♥
"An honest answer is a sign of true friendship." Proverbs 24:26
It's much easier to remain silent when others around us are messing up, but it's not the loving thing to do. Most people have no one in their lives that love them enough to tell them the truth, so they continue going t...he wrong way. Usually we know what needs to be said but fear keeps us from saying it. "An honest answer is the sign of true friendship." Sometimes caring means confronting !
Paul writes, "If someone in your group does something wrong, you who are spiritual should go to that person and gently make him right again" (Gal 6:1 ). That's what 'spiritual' people do ! The trouble is when an issue pops up that might cause tension, it's immediately glossed over in order to preserve peace. ..... 'Don't-rock-the-boat' jumps in and tries to smooth everyone's ruffled feathers, the issue is never resolved and everyone lives with an underlying feeling of frustration. "No more pretense.
Tell...the truth. In Christ's body we're all connected to each other...When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself" (Eph 4:25 ).
Now frankness is not a license to be rude and say anything you please. Thoughtless words wound people. "Never use harsh words when you correct an older man, but talk to him as if he were your father. Talk to younger men as if they were your brothers, older women as if they were your mothers, and younger women as if they were your sisters" (1Ti 5:1-2).
Bottom line is that whether in a marriage, a friendship, a church or a business, until we care enough to confront and resolve the underlying barriers, we'll never grow close to each other. Might as well start now~ ~ confronting with the love of God = caring !..♥

† More Proof That My Jesus Holds Me Together ! †
Are you aware that in us there is an extracellular matrix - a protein that is called Laminin. ? Is a substance that is described as part of a family of proteins that "hold us together". It’s like a tiny, weeny molecule that glues our body together.†
It holds one cell to ...the next and without it we would literally just fall apart. Now look at it very close you will notice one thing....Is in the shape of the cross ! †
In Colossians 1:17 it states : “He [Christ] is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” God designed Laminin in the shape of a cross and gave it the particular function of “glue” in the body so that we can know (in his words) the truth that Christ holds all things together.
How can anyone deny that there is a Creator ? What more proof do they need ? He made us in His image !
This illusrates how God's design is evident ( in the shape of the cross) how clearly we were created by Him. Isn’t that amazing ? ...The thing that holds our body together is the very symbol of the Savior who delivered us from all sins, pains and doubts. Literally, Jesus, my Jesus..HOLDS me TOGETHER..What more can I ever, ever, ever need or want ?
Word of God
Colossians 1:15-20 ~ Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead.So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

The Word of God
*.-``*:-He Prepares Your Path but You Set The Limits *.-``*:-
“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight…” (Isaiah 45:2)
Do you ever feel like every time you try to move forward in something, you hit a roadblock ? Something happens that throws you off course. I’m telling you to be encouraged today becau...se right now in your life, God is going before you. He’s preparing a way. He’s making your crooked places straight. He’s making your rough places smooth.
You may be going through a difficult time right now, but it’s not the end. It’s only the beginning. God has equipped you for this journey. You may feel like you’re in a dry season, but don’t look at your circumstances. Look at the promise of God today !
If you’ll keep speaking words of faith, God promises that He’ll anoint your head with oil and your cup will run over. That means you’ll be refreshed and anointed to do what He’s called you to do. God is preparing your path and equipping you for the journey.
What do you need today to keep moving forward ? Start by checking your attitude. Don’t go around complaining and focused on the negative side of things. Put on an attitude of praise and thanksgiving. Thank Him for making your crooked places straight ! As you do, you’ll move forward in joy and gladness in the blessed future He has prepared for you !
You Set the Limits - “What if they don’t believe ? Will their lack of faith make the faith of God no effect ? ” (Romans 3:3)
We know that there will always be critics and naysayers in life. It’s not what’s said about you that affects your life, but what you say and believe about yourself. Has the opinions of other people caused you to water down your dreams ? One of the most important things you can learn is that other people don’t have to believe in you in order for your dreams to come to pass. Other people don’t set the limits for your life ~ you do.
In Romans 3:3, the Apostle Paul is saying, “It doesn’t matter if other people don’t believe. Their unbelief is not going to keep me from believing in my dreams.” When God puts a promise in your heart, it’s not up to other people to bring it to pass, it’s up to you !
You don’t need everyone to validate you. You have to follow the voice of God for yourself and allow Him to order your steps. God sees the hidden treasures that you’ve had buried on the inside of you. He wants to bring those treasures out and make your dreams reality ! We have to make an effort to renew our mind and get rid of old, defeated thoughts and replace them with what God says about you. Once you take this step you will remove the limits and live that which God has in store for you !
You set the limits on the path He has prepared for YOU !!!!
