Tarmo Annus Hi, Flickr has App Garden http://www.flickr.com/services/ now, maybe you should add your App there too, so people could find & fave it there?

Looks like I had some debugging statements left in the code. I've removed the offending line and updated the server, this should resolve this issue.

Hi David, I'm still investigating, but Google is currently reporting "Anomaly" status on the Appengine urlfetch service which is used to communicate with the Facebook and Flickr APIs (if you're curious, you can see the elevated error rates here during the morning hours which you may have been trying to use Flickrbook): http://code.google.com/status/appengine/detail/urlfetch/2009/07/27#ae-trust-detail-urlfetch-internal-search-error_rate).

I just tried tagging on some of my test accounts, and it is working, although a bit slow on the response. The tag is being added, and the post appears on the Wall. However, it is not showing up in the news feeds, which is a frustrating bug that comes and goes frequently (I suspect it has to do with the weekly platform code pushes performed by ... See MoreFacebook).

I'm currently working on switching Flickrbook from using the Feed form popup dialog boxes to the new Stream API. This should also allow me to post directly to your friends' Wall without the restrictions imposed by the Feed form popup dialog (currently limited to posting to a max of three friends at a time) as well as let me automatically batch up your tagging activity and post without you having to manage it yourself with the check box.

Once it's done, I will have to submit and wait for review and approval by Facebook before it can be released, as the Stream API is still currently in "beta".

There was a bit of a delay, but the posts did eventually appear in the newsfeeds of the friends of my test account.

Please let me know if you are still having problems, and I'll try to dig deeper in the logs!

Hi Min,

Are you still having problems? Do you still see older photos on your flickrbook? The new photos must be public to appear in flickrbook.

flickrbook currently serves advertisements from RockYou and Cubics, two well-known ad networks. Unfortunately, it appears to be more common that excess ad inventory is being purchased by malware distributors. I'll be investigating and following up with the ad networks. I may just remove one of the ad networks to see if the issue disappears.

I wish I could post the photos directly to your friends' walls at the same time, but as a third-party developer, Facebook puts restrictions and limits on who I can publish to! Since YOU are the user of the Flickrbook application (and have given the app authorization), I can only have direct access to YOUR wall. Of course, Facebook doesn't have this... See More limitation with their own Photos and tagging app, since everyone automatically gets Facebook Photos installed with their account. Unfortunately, it's not always a completely level playing field being a Facebook developer...

Not yet, but now that Google AppEngine (the platform flickrbook is built on) supports recurring task scheduling and Facebook has introduced new stream publishing APIs, we should be able to implement it. Just waiting for the new API features to bake in for a while and looking for the free time...!

Cassidy Kennedy Hi! I love the app! Is there a way to take away the "PhotoStream" on your Flickrbook?--the problem with it is that I think people click on it rather than the set and it displays the picture in reverse order (the last picture in the Set shows up first in the Photoset because it was the last one uploaded). I just wanted... to see if there was a way around this--thanks!

Francis Hi Arron, right now, Flickrbook displays ALL public content from your Flickr account. You're not the first to ask, though, so we're trying to figure out how we can make the app more configurable while still keeping it easy to use for users and fast to query for the Flickr API servers.

Francis Hi Tom, the Flickr UPLOAD news story is a feature from Flickr, not from Flickrbook- log into Flickr, go to You, Your Account, Extending Flickr, then Your Facebook Account to set it up.

Flickrbook creates news stories when you TAG your friends in your Flickr. Unfortunately, this week's announcements of new homepage strea...m publishing policy and APIs has broken the feature- TAG stories from Flickrbook will appear on your Wall, but not in the homepage streams until the new stream APIs come out of beta and we can fix Flickrbook.

Just part of the everyday life as a Facebook developer!

Tom Perkins I have a friend whose photos he uploads to his flickr page appear on his facebook wall. It'll say "Jim uploaded 6 new photos" with a couple thumbs and when you click on one of them , it takes you to his photostream in his flcikr account. He doesn't remember how he got this to happen (he just remembers it being a pain t...o set up). I checked the troubleshooting, made sure all my photos are public and all that. As far as I can tell, everything is good to go, but I get the feeling Im maybe missing something obvious. Suggestions, anyone?
