Armeen Musa

Armeen Musa (from the band AM and the Grasshoppers) started her journey with a cover band "Enshrined" playing various live shows over the years all over Dhaka.

Further down the line, she started composing in Bangla and one thing led to another, she landed in the midst of the Bangla pop and underground rock music circle, creating a place for herself in between all the genres. Her move to England further prompted greater expansion of her musicality following her many solo shows and collaboration with Kishon Khan's All-star ensemble "Lokkhi Terra" (with Fazal Qureshi, Dinesh Pandit, Mark Mondesir, Phil Dawson, Noda and many others) Hit song "Bhromor Koio" famed Armeen, continues experimenting with a mesh of Bangla and Western sounds in her solo album Aye Ghum Bhangai released in May 2008.

Her debut album is a collection of her original compositions as well as one remake. Primarily her band The Grasshoppers (Adil, Amit and Bart) has produced the tracks, but there are various guest artists and producers including Mercury Award Winner jazz pianist Zoe Rahman, Idris Rahman (The Soothsayers), Buno, Arnob, Jibon, Kushal, Saif Q and others; and lyrics by Sahana Bajpaie, Farhan Sajjad and herself.
