It's a huge hit every year; over 500 people attended the 2009 Locals Only Program. Filmmakers have until January 15th tosubmit films, AND there's NO FEE.

ashland independent film festival Do you know about The Launch? The Launch is a FREE contest for Southern Oregon student filmmakers put on by the ashland independent film festival. There is no fee to enter, and films of any genre are accepted. There are four age categories: K-5, 6-8, 9-12, and college. The deadline for submissions is January 15th.

The true story of the final weeks of rehearsal for the Young@Heart Chorus in Northampton, MA, whose average age is 81, and many of whom must overcome health adversities to participate. Their music is unexpected, going against the stereotype of their age group, performin...g songs, for example, by James Brown and Sonic Youth. Although they have toured Europe and sang for royalty, this account focuses on preparing new songs, not an easy endeavor, for a concert in their home town, which succeeds in spite of several real heart breaking events.
