Sales Executive I
College Connection Program: BSLDP (Business Sales Leadership Development Program)
Education: BA - Marketing & Interactive Media Studies Miami University
"I was introduced to AT&T's development program during a sales class my senior year at Miami University. AT&T’s strong commitment to college hires and the opportunities for growth within the company are what attracted me to the Business Sales Leadership Development Program.
"During my job search, I spent time doing company research and interview preparation. I became knowledgeable and entered each interview with a specific list of questions pertaining to different aspects of the company and my opportunities for growth. Remaining open-minded and flexible about different job descriptions — whether in marketing, marketing research, management, or sales—and different geographic regions increased my job prospects.
"The opportunity for growth within AT&T has been the most exciting part for me. I spent 5 months of training in the Development Program focusing on Small Business Sales following graduation from Miami University. After my 5-month stint in Atlanta, I received an opportunity to interview and was selected for a position in Enterprise Sales in the NJ/NYC market.
"I was fortunate to have received extensive training with AT&T. The exposure to top level executives within AT&T, the Development Program’s leadership, internal and external mentoring, and overall support from my colleagues in the program were all vital to my success both in the program and now as I begin down my career path at AT&T. Also, just having begun my career with a Fortune 10 company is preparing me for a successful journey.
"I feel like Sales is the way to go for me. It's a great way to gain positive exposure with upper level management in a company of over 300,000 employees. My goal is to get as much experience in different areas of the company as possible. Whether it's necessary to take a step back, sideways or forward, I feel it is important to understand different areas of an organization as you work your way up."
