"We have 2 desktops and 2 laptops. Every computer came straight out of the box, had the pre-installed anti-virus software uninstalled and AVG installed before it got hooked to the internet. All of my children know the same rule: Install AVG first thing and get rid of the rest!
Our kids had a computer that only they used. They kept complaining about pop-ups and the computer running slow. I couldn't understand why until I figured out that one of them had disabled AVG. Apparently it had started running a scan and they didn't like it so they shut it off. They soon realized that it was better to postpone the scan than to shut it down and deal with all the pop-ups. I immediately updated AVG and ran a scan; there were over 180 trojan horses on their computer!! I was shocked but AVG fixed it and it ran just fine after that.
When my husband and I went shopping for our last laptop, I refused to buy one because they all had Windows Vista on them. We couldn't find one with XP anywhere. I went home and checked the AVG site to make sure it was compatible with Vista, saw that it was, and went ahead and bought a laptop with Vista on it. I had to make sure I could still use AVG or I wouldn't buy it.
Any time one of my friends calls and is having trouble with their computer the first thing I ask them is if they have AVG. Then the next question is, "Are there any other anti-virus programs on your computer?" I've found that uninstalling Norton usually fixes the problem. AVG is all you need.
Thanks AVG for making my life so much easier!!! I can't live without it!"- Don’t accept pop-ups or prompts for software unless you’re armed with web scanner software such as AVG’s free LinkScanner.
