Brian Flynn Franco Mares passed mon. morning at 3am in Mexico. His Grandfather owned the property where NKB Ashram is in Taos NM. He came to the temple often and was so full of light and love, lighting up whatever space he entered. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.

I as many others around the globe have been touched by the golden loving wisdom and guidance of Ram Dass. In 1970 walking through a little bookstore in Los Gatos CA, I was drawn to the deep blue mandala design on the front cover of the book "Be Here Now" and was so inspired particularly by "Our Story" that I wrote to Ram Dass sharing a bit of "My Story" and was pleasently surprised to get a written response from Ram Dass. So began an ongoing correspondense between us for many months. His personal guidance through those letters included receiving my Spiritual name "OmSurya" which he explained when added to my first name "Michael" meant "Keeper of the Rainbow in the Sun". Within 30-days of receiving this name I found myself living in a Yoga Ashram (spiritual community) called "Christananda" in San Jose, CA. Within 6-months I found myself teaching Hatha and Raja Yoga at S.J. State and S.J. City Colleges in California. Within 12-months I was teaching some 20+ classes a week and every aspect of my persona and lifestyle had radically changed so whats in a name..? Unbelievable stuff...
I had met Ram Dass on numerous occasions during the 70's most notably in San Francisco at what he called his "Winterland Gig"... An unforgettable darshan with a few thousand devotees hanging out in a living room hang loose type atmosphere with Ram Dass making everyone feel like they had finally come home after a long journey once again. I taught Yoga and Meditation for some 10+ years, wrote a few books under various other sudanames and finally moved to the islands in 1981. It was a most beautifully rewarding decade that continues to this day.
Theres so much more to say but what I really wanted to say was: "God Bless you Ram Dass for all the Love and golden Wisdom you have shared with so many of us throughout the years. I know you have been and will always be a significant part of my life's journey back home and I shall never forget you... I take you with me... everywhere I go..."
