About Me:
Bill Walker was born in Fairbanks on April 16, 1951. He grew up in Fairbanks, Delta Junction, and Valdez. His mother moved to Alaska to work on the building of the Alaska Highway. His father was a member of the Alaskan Scouts (Castner's Cutthoats) in the Aleutians during World War II.

Bill, as a young boy honked the horn on his dad’s car in celebration of Alaska’s statehood. He worked multiple jobs at 13 years old (construction, janitorial, dog sitting, tour bus washing) to escape bankruptcy after his family lost everything in the’64 earthquake. He danced in the street with an entire town when the first barrel of oil flowed through the pipeline to Valdez.

Since then his vision for the state has remained steadfast: Get a gasline in Alaska. He knows that this means jobs, revenue, affordable energy, and survival for the state. And he knows better than anyone how to make this so-called “pipe dream” come true. Bill's goal is to reduce Alaskans' energy costs by 50%.

Bill has been making a payroll since his early twenties in construction, tourism, real estate and law businesses he has owned. During the construction of the Trans Alaska Pipeline, Bill worked summers as a laborer, carpenter and teamster to put himself through college. He also served as Mayor of the City of Valdez when he was 27 years old and then he and Donna headed off to law school. Their law firm is Walker & Levesque LLC which specializes in the practice of municipal and oil and gas law.

The Walkers have resided in Anchorage for over twenty years. The couple has four children, Lindsay, 28; Tessa, 25; Adam, 24; and Jordan, 21. They also have one grandchild, Mera, who plans to take home a baby brother from the hospital in July!
