Blake Hadley Creative Everyday we see a number of advertisements all around us, but how much are YOU really affected by them? Is it true that some advertising can be subliminal and tap into your subconscious without you even knowing it? Or is this video just a bunch of BS.
I have had a number of discussions with coworkers and classmates abou...t this subject but I am curious to what you think. Please comment.

Hmmmmm, well the acting in this video was terrible. Completely staged in my opinion. However, it still makes a good point. Advertising can have subliminal effects, I understand that. But a coincidental drawing of a bear playing a harp next to some pearl gates... c'mon. And further, I don't think the items listed in the taxi cab ride could have had that much influence on the creativity of a professional.

I'm going to have to go with Ryan. I'm calling BS. If subliminal advertising had this much of an affect THE FIRST time you were exposed to it, I'd be using it to attract all sorts of women. But seeing as how I'm still single AND I have a hard time believing these advertising professional are cheap hacks I'm going to call BS on this particular ... See Moreshow.

On the other hand, I think constant exposure to something DOES have an affect on us and our buying decisions which is why the industry exists.

On the other hand, maybe the reason I randomly painted this bear with wings on my chest while I slept last night was indeed because I watched this segment. Whose to say?

Blake Hadley Creative L’Oreal Brandstorm is a international marketing and advertising competition for college students.The objective for the competition in 2008 was to create a sun care product, packaging, formula, and communication campaign for the VICHY Capital Soleil brand appealing to 13-25 year olds. Our answer was “Shade”.

At the US Na...tional Finals in New York we won Best Communication Campaign and won the overall competition. L’Oreal then flew us to Paris, France to compete against 39 other colleges. There we also won Best Communication Campaign and were the overall champions of the International Finals.
