You can probably get used Panasonic DVX100's really cheap now. We shot a bunch of our sketches on those. Another HUGE thing to get is a shotgun mic. On-camera mics are the worst and bad audio makes videos seem amateury more than anything else. If that camera is wildly out of your price range, let me know, and I'll recommend something else!
