Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania SOLVE, in conjunction with Greek Life, has begun its annual Giving Tree community service project, which allows participants to pick an ornament in exchange for a gift for a local needy child. Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Amanda Riley, a sophomore, scored two goals to lead BU to a 3-2 win Sunday over UMass-Lowell in the 2009 NCAA Division II Field Hockey National Championship game, giving the Huskies their fourth straight title and 16th overall. The title also marks the end of Jan Hutchinson's career, who recently annouced her retirement from coaching.

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania BU's Grad Finale for December '09 graduating students will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Fenstemaker Alumni House. Students will be able to handle many graduating tasks, such as purchasing cap and gowns, at the event.

Maggey Bloskey, of Danville, scored once and had an assist to lead the BU's field hockey to a 4-2 win over Shippensburg in the semi-final game of the NCAA Division II field hockey championships in Easton, MA, Stonehill College.
The Huskies, 21-1, will play for the 16th national championship in school history on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the winner of the other semi-final game between Stonehill and UMass-Lowell.

Amanda Addis, a senior exercise science major, completed an internship at Nova Chemical in its fitness center run by Corporate Fitness Works. There, Addis wrote seven exercise plans, showed members new exercises on a weekly basis and answered numerous questions based on health, fitness and wellness. She also designed... a two-week incentive program for 13 participants.
Addis felt the program was successful and a lot of fun. But, beyond all the practical skills she learned, Addis said her relationships with the members have become irreplaceable. “The real benefit came from learning how to change a person’s perspective on their life and see their appreciation for that,” she said.Read More

Shaina Rae, a BU senior, spent a month over the summer exploring the Scottish Isles, including two weeks on the island Rousay, one of the many Orkney Islands - a small island with a population of less than 100 people.
On the island, Rae explored many archaeological sites, such as neolithic burial mounds, medieval churches and cemeteries, Viking long house remnants, Bronze Age brochs, or Iron Age Pict settlements.
