1) It is a non-subscription, but recurring charge. So it is month-to-month with no contract.
2) Boingo has a network of hotspots around the world (120,000+ around the world)

Michel de Ligt Learned about Boingo at Chicago airport during a short visit to the airport years ago. Never thought Boingo also worked here in the Netherland but my Ipod Touch learned me that the did. I subscribed to Boing on my Ipod but it would be great to als have it on my laptop.

Mark Just signed up and I hear good things. One problem is no Boingo at Denver international airport. The site says because DIA has free wifi but trust me it's so slow and spotty it's not worth signing on.

Giles Antonio Radford I really would like a free account, as I'm regularly going to be travelling to some less advanced markets this year, such as Egypt and Morocco, where mobile access will be incredibly expensive, and credit cards don't always work, and a Boingo account might well give me the edge I need to keep connected.

I've used you back when you did a joint venture with Skype, and it was excellent. I stopped travelling for a while so it was less useful to me, but my new job will have me in airports and hotels all over the world!

Frank Big help for me, found a couple of hotels that had no internet service, so I needed this to be able to use the McDonald's connections to be able to take care of emailing in my service updates.

Regina I'm already a member and I love the service. Since buying the service, I've not been in an airport where I don't have wifi access. Also, just going around town, I know that most Starbucks and Barnes & Nobles give me access. (Also, McDonalds does too). What's great is customer service (seriously.) I get consistently awesome feedback for questions on Twitter. Sometimes phone hold times can be long, but it's rare I need to talk to someone on the phone.

Getting free Boingo would be great (plus, I'm looking for work, so it would help my "no money coming in" budget").

Dipu The reason I want Boingo is due to the the ability to access my huge set of files on my hard disk regardless of which city I am at. I can use my laptop and do not have to worry about using my phone's tiny keypad :-). The monthly rate is definitely a plus!

Barbara B. Nixon Loving my trial subscription to Boingo. Great for the MANY times I've been stuck in airports. I can grab a comfy seat, fire up my Dell Insipiron, and with Boingo I can either kill time or be productive, depending on my mood. I can check flight status without having to pack up my stuff and find a flight-status monitor. And the monthly fee definitely beats the high wireless charges in some hotels, too. Consider me a fan. (Shameless Plug: And I'd love to win a longer subscription.)

Jim Young Hello Boingo, I've been with Boingo for 3 months now using a Thinkpad laptop with the built-in IBM 802.11abg wireless card. Couldn't be happier with the service, especially the ability to connect most services do not have hot spots.

Joyce M. Holland Trying to wean myself of a broadband subscription plan, but a little reluctant to switch. Motorola Q9M SmartPhone running Windows 6.0 with multiple applications installed. The problem is the phone's was heavily promoting the Bluetooth capability and forgot to mention that Wi-Fi is NOT part of the equipmment. So I am madly investigating the purschase of a Spectec Mini SDIO WiFi Card 802.11b (SDW-822 Mini SDIO Wireless LAN). Why this brand? Because according to my research, this is the most compatable. So, my question is, can someone on the list who have used this card with the BOING service, please provide a rating on the connection time and the disconnects or drop-offs.

Hi Joyce! To answer your question, if the phone runs on WM 6.0 (as it does) then the card should work, but it's not entirely guaranteed. Additionally, the card should be enabled with WM 6 drivers.

We recommend that you upgrade to a MOTO Q11... Read More…it’s a newer, sleeker phone, although we're not sure if it is sold in the US (via a carrier). You can buy it unlocked via a US distributor, but it will be expensive as an unlocked phone. However, please note that we have not validated this via testing. If you have any further questions, please let us know!
