In the food business, non-organic produce/farming is referred to as "conventional". Maybe fruits and vegetables grown organically without the use of synthetic chemicals should be referred to as "Unconventional"...

In general I mix the parsnips in with mashed potatoes. Or I add them to a vegetable, chicken broth for soup, or roast them on their own with a little salt, pepper and olive oil.

Yes, that last delivery of carrots (which for us came several weeks ago because we were away for the holiday) were amazingly delicious! I usually eat them with the skin on, and these were noticeably less bitter than usual.
