Why are people so scared of freedom? So they have a gun. So what?

Sure Rich, freedom of speech is legal too... but talk is cheap.

The Brady Campaign is for SENSIBLE gun laws. We all can agree that being sensible is not bad, right? It is NOT about taking away your man toys.

Open carry is legal so there is really no grievance to protest against and nothing to demonstrate for. It’s just adults who want to play cowboys.

There were over 20 occurences last year of legal concealed carry permit holders committing crimes using their weapons, including robbery and mass murder.

Personally, knowing that that obnoxious opinionated right winger over there has a deadly weapon hiddon on his person, doesn't make me feel thankful.

I don't argue that guns should be banned, but... See More I do argue that concealed carrying should never be legal anywhere for anyone, not even law enforcement or the military. I have a right to know who is carrying a gun, so that I can get as far away from them as possible, in case they decide to commit mass murder or robbery or some other offense and kill or injure me in the process.

How about... Have as many guns as you want, but keep them away from public places where the only reason to carry them is intimidation and ignorance.... Just a thought.

Actually, I have been advocating that all people carrying guns be required to wear them in plain sight. I fail to see how people are in any more danger from people carryng guns in plain sight than they are from people carrying concealed weapons. If I were in a Starbuck's, and a person carrying a gun walked in, I would walk out. My reasoning is that people who "see no evil" because they are unaware of how many people are carrying concealed weapons need to get their heads out of the sand and see how widespread the carrying of guns has become. Maybe that would help gain support for the enforcement of reasonable gun control rules. The best way to get businesses to support gun control is for them to lose money because people don't want to be seen with gunslingers.

As for for a firearm discharging accidently I've always said accidents are not an excuse for stupdity or carelessness when it comes to firearms. They are not as rare as you would be led to believe and they cause many deaths each year and the two main reasons are improper handling and storage. Which to me is not an accident but improper training and common sense... Owning a firearm(s) is not just a right, it's YOUR full time responsibility to know at all times that your guns are safe from unwanted touching and properly handled When they are in use.
