Branford Marsalis "Branford Marsalis (who
appeared at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on Monday night) should serve as a
model for a generation of young saxophonists. In the matter of sheer
technical perfection, the only possible comparison is with the late
Stan Getz, but Marsalis achieves it on both tenor and soprano
saxophones."

A ride to the moon on a Jitney? Romance sometimes is what you make it, and how you get there is less important then the joy found in taking the journey. Love can blossom most anywhere...even at a country dance held in a garden...just hold your breath and ask ..."May I have the next one?"
Minna

Minna Excellent concert tonight in Sto, thank you. Totally inspiring! :)

Hello Branford i emailed you a few years back and im goin to send you this letter again...I am Cacecius Pettiford the Head Executor of the Pettiford Estate Oscar Pettiford was not inducted into the jazz hall of fame at the lincoln center i understand that it may have been over looked, but on behalf of the Pettiford family we are very disappointed in this!
Also i would like to collaborate with you on a project or two in the style of be-bop fusion with my skills of turntablism.
Herbie Hancock performed with a Dj and live band and i would like to do the same with you brother. God Bless!

Isma ... And the one with Justin "Thunder" Faulkner :)

Isma

Isma I still believe that perfection does not belong to this world, but on Sunday night here in Brussels you made me doubt... Thank you so much for the excellent performance and the presence of the BMQ and also for the humbling conversation we had afterwards, Branford.
"How can you play music without being spiritual ?" Your... question sill echoes inside of me...
Hope we'll keep in touch one day here, in Morocco or North Carolina. Maximum respect to Justin.

Merci Monsieur Marsalis !

As Salam Alaikum,

Muhammad, Ishmael & Ibrahim

PS : We missed the pictures, so you gotta be back... :)

Bram Oostveen

Bram Oostveen Yesterday evening in Amsterdam was mesmerizing and so much fun. It was great to hear all the clever musical ideas and little jokes and to watch and hear the interaction between all the members of the band. One critical note :try to void ‘Jingle Bells’ references before December (Mr. Calderazzo really is outrageously br...illiant and funny). Special praise for Justin Faulkner.

Eric Gasore
