Jill - I am not against screening. There is a lot of evidence that other screening methods may be better for early detection and are less invasive. A single mammogram gives you nearly 1000 times more radiation exposure than a chest x-ray. I think that women should be made aware of all the alternatives, given all the evidence for and against, and be able to make up their own minds.
