I have both Lupus and Sjogrens as well. I was recently in the hospital and diagnosed with renal tubular acidocis which apparently was caused by either the sjogrens or lupus. The doctors don't really know. It is frustrating that different doctors tell you different things because nobody knows enough about it.

RE: I've Been Working Out Like Crazy, Eating Right and STILL Can't Lose Weight.

For women experiencing this problem they should speak with their doctors about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Don't let the name fool you - this disease has everything to do with the pancreas and endocrinology. Many women, just like myself can be vigilant about our diet and health, yet, the weight still hangs on.

Google PCOS, many women have it (6-10% of Americans) but have never even heard of it. It leads to diabetes, heart disease and is the leading factor of infertility and miscarriage in women of childbearing age.... Read More

An unfortunate path of the disease it that every woman presents herself differently - not every woman has all the symptoms, some may only have a few. But it is worth having your doctor look into this for you - and at the very least rule PCOS out as a health problem so you can continue looking at other reasons for weight gain.
