It’s always a bit funny finding people at a coffee shop when you don’t know what they look like. I try to get eye contact with people and wait for a look that says “yep, I have no clue who I’m looking for as well”. That’s the goal, but what really happens is those people your really trying to meet up with are on the... other side of the store and the person you decided to take an extended glance at ends up looking quite bewildered at you. Luckily, all I had to do was search for the best dressed teenager around me and found Tiffany, her boyfriend Shane and mother waiting patiently. This was probably one of the last days where I could get some fall colors into the shots so we went to Drake Park and also spent some time in downtown Bend where the sun was lighting up this blazing red tree. Tiffany was a natural in front of the camera and I think this came partly from her excitement at having, as she said, “waited four years for this day”. Thanks Tiffany, Gina and Shane for the fun day!Read More

Byron Roe Photography Off to shoot another senior portrait. Fall colors are still here but going quick!

A good friend, Kelsi, called me up recently in tears as her dog, and best friend, Angus has been having liver trouble and it didn’t look good. She realized she didn’t have any really good photos of the two of them and wanted to know if we would do a family portrait. With fall colors in full rage, we set out to take A...ngus on a brief hike and follow the Deschutes river by Meadow camp in Bend, Oregon. Having two dogs of our own, Miles and Dizzy, we understand the connection between ourselves and our favorite pets (Idiosyncrasies and all). I hope Angus is able to pull through - he’ll forever remind me of a gangly teenager, connected at the hip to his mother and always drooling :) We love ya Kelsi - all the best to you and I hope these images bring some smiles as you walk by them in your home of the wonderful dog that is Angus.Read More

Whew, this was really a fun day in Wendy and my book of photoshoots! This was apparent to me as I sat down to edit what we shot and it took me forever to pick some fun shots to show everyone. There are WAY too many great photos from this day in Central Oregon and these images are only a small showing of the exciting ...time we had with Julianne and Dustin. I’ve had a few people say to me, “if something crazy pops in your head about a photo concept, don’t discount it but go with it because 9 times out of 10 it will lead to something great”. This has always been a major part of why I love what I do and why our clients enjoy working with Wendy and I, however it always helps to have bride and grooms willing to take on the challenge and trust the photographer as Julianne and Dustin did! Love you both, you two rock!Read More

After seeing Emily pull a 6-seater Cessna airplane out of a Bend Airport hangar - in her wedding dress, mind you - we knew we were in for a treat! I had the pleasure of flying with the bride and family to Sisters while her groom waited on the ground. The quaint, family ceremony took place under the freshly-snowed Cas...cades on the runway of the Sisters airport. The bride and groom endured a chilly, 50 degree day, while Luke sniffled with a recent cold - all sure to be the funny details of their wedding day to remember! This adorable couple are a great pair. Luke, Emily - we wish you both the best in love and happiness together. Thank you for letting us share our creative juices with you this very special day.Read More

Check out Kevin Kubota's post on this year's annual "Family Day In The Park." Unfortunately, it was tempered by the bend 'snow' storm that fell on Sunday. Thanks for the mention Kevin and we look forward to jumping in next year... http://www.kevinkubotablog.com/kubota-bl og/2009/10/4/making-lemonade.html

Dustin and Julianne are a class act - energetic, fun and gracious in every way. Their wedding near the Haceta Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast was quaint and beautiful. Somehow nature provided one of the few sunny and warm days on the coast blessing them with good weather! The details impeccable, the ceremony sweet, t...he sunset spectacular - what more could you ask for? Some of the favorites below were taken when I snuck off with the bride and groom after the ceremony down to the beach near some tide pools that had formed. More to come on these two as this is part one of two posts. The next will feature the sassy downtown shots and reception details of their Tetherow (Bend, Oregon) gathering. Stay tuned…Read More

Byron Roe Photography We're proud to be the first to take a bride/groom (candy lovers themselves) into Powells Candy and capture some fun lovin' shots. These two are a class act in all directions. More to come...

Aspen Hall in Bend, Oregon was transformed into a mirage of color and creativity for Kelly and Michael’s wedding. Kelly and Michael, two graceful and harmonious people, shared a beautiful and spiritual rite of passage recently that Byron and I were blessed to capture. The ceremony began after everyone was comfortable... - shoes off - and seated. It was evident their friends and family participated in every dimension of the event. Thank you both for sharing yourselves in these photos as you visibly show your love for each other :) We enjoyed participating and look forward to meeting your newest addition soon!
