I've bought a ticket TWICE in the past and both times was too ill to go. So last night I saw the film version from Brussels. I enjoyed it, though I think a few of my fellow audience members were a bit taken aback by the gender-bending. I think it's fun, though, and mark morris is the most musical of choreographers. Enjoy!

Cal Performances The Tallis Scholars are the rock stars of Renaissance polyphony, having performed over 1,450 concerts since the group formed. Founder Peter Phillips pioneered a style that is pure in tone with little bravato, allowing each voice to be clearly heard. To say they are awesome is an understatement.

its all so irreverent and scarily funny--especially when i first saw it at the premiere--'95? but moments of beauty remind you that as funny as mark is, he is a truly brilliant, musically-adept choreographer who can disturb you while forcing you to laugh...pas de deux with nutcracker and boy? a scrim, so eerie.
