Despite the promise of stormy weather and being scheduled on a week day, the 2009 Camp ASCCA Staff Reunion was a successful BLAST! Summer Staff members from the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, and as recently as 2006 were present. Participants arrived throughout the day on Thursday with several staying at camp overnight. In all, over 30 people attended.

For many attendees, this reunion meant that they were able to share Camp ASCCA with their spouses and children for the first time. For others, it was a time to show their children where they first met and fell in love! The kids enjoyed time in the pool and exploring camp’s newest activity, the mini golf course.

The living area of Lions Lodge was filled with hundreds of old photos, compliments of Ms. Judy Williams, who has been involved as a staff member or volunteer since camp’s first summer, and other reunion participants. Time was also spent with camp’s most precious asset, the campers! No matter how many years pass, loyal Camp ASCCA alumni still consider being with our campers a privilege.

Here are a few comments from the Reunion attendees:

Ashlee: I was glad to share a bit of ASCCA with my girls. We had a GREAT time! Can’t wait to do it again!

Camille: We had so much fun, thanks for putting that together and making it possible. My soul really needed that!

Virginia: It was great being at camp again yesterday! I forgot how much I miss the dances and good night song!

AJ: Camp Looks Great ! You guys are doing a great Job!

Shanna: I had a fabulous time at camp last night, the dance was awesome. I miss it so much I would be there everyday of my life. Can’t wait till next year.

Matthew: The staff reunion was a blast! It was great seeing some old friends.

Bob: I miss that place so much. The staff and management have done so much to not only maintain the Camp, but to improve it!
