Mary A. Davila

Mary A. Davila So good. Kenyan, Sumatra, my favorites, one dollar Mondays, two dollar mochas, three dollar lattes. So good.

Sarah I guess this is a good example of why the health is so bad in America - people just don't care how bad the stuff that they are eating or drinking is! Well, someday when you have a quadruple bypass you will!

I guess it shouldn't surprise me that there are so many Americans that don't check the nutrition facts for things. I don't check them for everything, because in general, you know what's healthy on a menu and what's not, based on the ingredients. And it is definitely okay to splurge once in a while (as a devoted baker a...nd lover of desserts, I know this!). But I knew all of the calories for my favorite drinks at Caribou...and people, the change is NOT little...it's drastic. The caloric increase is bad enough (example 380 to 580 = 200 more calories), but the fat is what is really bad (example, 4 to 25 = 19 more grams)...and that is one of the BEST things you can get because it is skim, no whip...imagine what the 2%, whip ones you are getting have (example, 710 calories, 49 g fat). You are only supposed to have 65 in one day on a 2000 cal diet.Read More

But with the new chocolate there is only 6 ingredients and they are all natural where before it was a powder mix with artificial ingredients and everyone knows that it is harder for your body to absorb and eventually burn off artificial ingredients. Yes, the mochas carry more calories and fat but they can also be burned off more easily because it doesn't stick in your body as long as the artificial ones.

Ken Seriously? Are you going to stop going to Caribou because they are trying something different? Really? It's that terrible? Honestly? You're not coming back? Good. :) More for me.

The nutrition facts really are that terrible. But I guess if you didn't care about how many calories and how much fat you were drinking before, you won't care now. But if your pants start feeling tight after weeks of the new drinks, you know who to blame.

Diane Sigler We don't have a Caribou Coffee shop close enough to try their drinks, but we do order their beans and Fireside, Mahogany and Obsidian are fantastic dark blends!

OK, I agree with a lot of folks, the new chocolates have some issues; for me, one is the higher fat content. And there's a chalky aftertaste that I didn't used to get. That said, I really don't think that people expressing a desire for a change back need to be addressed so disrespectfully as I'm seeing on this Wall. ... I don't like it and won't read anything more here b/c of it. So please, no comments to me about how 'my life won't end just b/c a change was made,' 'mix it up a little,' or 'just ask for less.' I've tried these things, and so have many others. Obviously there are many who just don't like it. We're not whiners or complainers, letting a company know is how change gets made to begin with.Read More

I do not like the new chocolate, so here is what I've done for my Mint Condition substitute: I bought the Mint Syrup from Caribou and a personal coffee thermos (16oz or a medium). I add a tablespoon of the syrup and take it to another coffee shop (I chose Starbucks, but whatever you want), where I order a Mocha or Tu...xedo Mocha (white and dark chocolate). I order it nonfat, no-whip and the drink is practically the same... Sbux mocha is more bitter so I prefer the Tuxedo. Anyway, if you want to give that a try with the mint or any other syrup I'd say it's worth a shot. The reason I thought to do this is because I worked at a coffee shop and was used to concocting drinks... it is a little extreme though. LOLRead More

Ha. That's funny. I actually am planning on doing the same thing! I just got my shipment of Caribou's Raspberry and Cherry syrups (my favorite for Caribou's Lite White Berry), and am planning on adding it to Starbucks' White Choc Mocha! I also ordered the mint. And eventually, I am going to see if I can buy whatever white choc syrup Caribou used to use, a better espresso machine, and start making more drinks at home.
