My mother died of cancer yesterday. This is the last picture of us together and I wondered if anyone with mad Photoshop skills could touch up the picture and remove the oxygen cannula. I would greatly appreciate anyone who could be of assistance.

I get emotional every time I think about those words. I’ve waited to type them for months. May 20th I sat in front of my Dr. while he told me that my life was about to take a detour. I knew from the phone call that it wasn’t good. Today, November 2nd, I sat there while he told me I was done. T...

As a clinician, I am grateful that it is acknowledged that end of life counseling is important. But also that our time is valuable, and should be compensated. These issues, as stated, are complex and should be discussed in a therapeutic/supportive setting.

Caring.com [DISCUSSION] What do you vow to do or not do when you get older?

www.caring.com
I feel like this is like when I was younger. "When I have kids, I'll never ground then!" My newer version is "When I grow up, I'll never give up!" What's funny is that almost 7 years into my parenting life, I probably repeat more than I renounced. I wonder what my golde...n years will be like. Perhaps ...

Don't children require special small equipment -- how about a surcharge for them? What about tall people? People with mental illness who fight back? People with bad body odor? Women who are pregnant with more than a single fetus because of the risk factor? People who can't speak English and an interpreter has to be called in? A surcharge for people... See More who stupidly injured themselves because of an unadvised activity? For people who poop their pants and require extra clean-up? For drunk or drugged people who vomit all over the back of the ambulance? What about those major bleeders? Heck, I can see dollar signs all over the place!!

Mom has dementia, getting worse every day. I am an only child, and her only relative. She lives 400 miles away. I have tried insisting that she move closer to me or at least have caregivers check on her but she is adamant that she does not need this. HELP!

Look into getting home health into her home where she is- most people do better staying in familiar surroundings anyways. I am a home health caregiver, and the right one makes all the difference.
