Sharon Seymour I have a question about Fire Danger Ratings concerning local businesses. I live in Warrandyte and I have noticed that my local G.P. is going to be closed on Code Red Days, but what about other local businesses? Should they be closed too? I'm concerned as my 2 teenagers work for local businesses. Are their employers goi...ng to be happy if they call in sick on a Code Red day? And then what about Extreme Fire Danger Ratings and Severe Fire Danger Ratings? Should local businesses be closed on those days?

Johnathan Gibson he guys, as a former vol, and officer for 12 years. I"m yet to understand why we would be leasing a DC 10 or Boing 747 for 3 months at a cost of $10million dollars. wouldn't this money be better spent on new appliances both air, and 4X4 tankers?

CFA (Country Fire Authority) has declared a Total Fire Ban in the North Eastern TFB district tomorrow (Friday, Nov 20)

I've got a lot of respect for the CFA and the amazing work you guys do.
My main concern coming into fire season is that the advice to leave when the ratings get to 'severe' or above is supported by only minimal information. It's tough to live if you can't plan even one day ahead!
Would it be possible to put out 'forecast...s' of fire danger rating up to several days ahead? Even if they're 'only for guidance', it would be a great help. It'd really help if we got to see a map on TV and the BoM's website, alongside the normal weather info.
Not only would it help with planning, I think it would raise the awareness of ordinary people, making fire danger something that is talked about day-to-day and therefore (hopefully) acted upon!
Thanks again for all your great work, CFA.

Prue Tipping I checked the CFA web site about an hour ago and there was no mention of a fire at Mallacoota. I just checked back and it says there is a controlled wild fire there with 92 units. Surely that couldn't have happened in an hour. I hope this is not a sign that the web site is not being updated as often as it should? We... really want to know whats going on in our area as soon as possible.

Trevor Davison Although we are not in a highly dangerous place in Vic. (Maryborough), we still very much appreciate the great efforts that are made by CFA members

Andrew Read Is anyone having problems accessing the Authority's corporate website?
