ChampagneGuide.net I didn't feel like working this afternoon, so I went down to see Benoît and Jean-Mary Tarlant, just on a simple errand to pick up a bottle. Apparently, Benoît didn't want to work either. Perhaps he wanted to practice his hand-disgorgement skills. Six hours and many, many bottles later....

ChampagneGuide.net It really is a dreary and soggy day in Champagne. Better to stay down in the cellars, where it's warmer than it is outside!

ChampagneGuide.net Gosset has moved from Aÿ to a swank new location in Epernay, formerly home to the Malakoff cellars. I've written about my visit in today's blog post on ChampagneGuide.net, and I've also posted new tasting notes for several Gosset champagnes, including the rare 425e Anniversaire bottling.

We visited the new digs while we were in town last month, very excited for them, much more befitting.

ChampagneGuide.net Pierre Péters has just released the estate's first-ever rosé champagne. Is it a saignée or is it a blended rosé? Um... both. I've posted a tasting note on ChampagneGuide.net.

I'm assuming that it should be on the way. "On the water", as they say. But I would confirm with your local retailer or Skurnik rep.

Enjoyed this very much Monday at Terroir (nyc) - not on the list yet but they had a bottle open, very impressive wine.

ChampagneGuide.net I've posted the first of a series of monthly articles today on ChampagneGuide.net, about Champagne's "forgotten" varieties: things like petit meslier, arbanne and pinot blanc. I even talk about gamay (gasp!), and I've included a little slideshow as an extra bonus. Take a look!

shame the author has mispelled all the authors names, by including the institutional attributions (a,b,c) as part of their surnames! D'oh!

in that other article, from the BBC, they talk of using the data to build even better smelling and tasting sparklers through science. Hmmm...

ChampagneGuide.net Helped Jean-Hervé Chiquet of Champagne Jacquesson log on to ChampagneGuide.net this morning (while drinking a glass of Cuvée 730). This newfangled technology can be difficult sometimes.
