Charleston RiverDogs Cool article on College of Charleston product Brett Gardner who started games 5 and 6 of the World Series for the Yankees.

Source: www.postandcourier.com
There is a popular misconception out there about New York Yankees center fielder Brett Gardner. As the story goes, the undersized kid from tiny Holly Hill Academy made the College of Charleston baseball team as a walk-on.

unfortunately Hughes didn't pitch enough in the Series for the Phils to light him up. He just fell apart in the playoffs. But he's got a ring and I have to get up for work at 7:30 so he's got me there

How about them Phils. Get on the train. Back to NY. Phils still have fighting chance to beat them Yanks.

Jim, the consensus around the water cooler is you were correct! Now the Yanks are still in control just not as tight a grip. All 3 former RDogs on the Yanks roster pitched last night (Robertson, Coke, Hughes) and former CofC star Gardner started.
