- Our hospital began as a dream, partnering with an existing facility for children and committed volunteers, and ultimately laying a strong foundation to become the state-of-the-art, stand-alone facility that opened in early 2004.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt Did you know we bring the holidays to children who cannot leave the hospital? On Oct. 30, our patients will participate in "Reverse-Trick-Or-Treat" in their rooms. They'll even dress up in Halloween costumes! We need new infant, toddler and teen costumes and accessories.
