The mission of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba Inc. is to be an independent agency whose purpose is to raise and distribute funds for the advancement of knowledge and care in the fields of child health and child health research.

The Children's Hospital Book Market was established in 1961 and is the longest running fundraiser in support of the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
Since its inception, the Book Market has raised about $4.4 million in support of child health care in Manitoba and received numerous awards including the Mayor's Volunteer Service Award and a Teddy Award.
