Despite recent remarkable legislative achievements, Senator Christopher Dodd is in political hot water back home in Connecticut.
Keith at 7:40am June 14
It is unfortunate that this man who people have put their trust in is so corrupt. Maybe Angelo can bail him out and hold a fundraiser for him at the senators "cottage" in Ireland.
Mike at 3:52pm June 14
He gets things done. Dodd has been a leader in changing the direction of our nation. The credit card legislation is likely to be the most important thing this Congress will do. If I still lived in Connecticut I would be proud to vote for him.

Thanks for all the hard work you do for the constituents of CT! Please keep fighting for a strong public health insurance option. By "Strong", I mean national in scope with real bargaining power, ready on day one, truly public, and part of a broader plan to cover everyone. Keep up the great work and thanks for Facebooking!

Sorry,Senator but I don't agree with yours & Kennedy bill.Forcing people & business to pay if they don't sign up.Then, just dropping a hundred + pages of the bill and forcing the Health Committee to just vote on it.Should, at least let have time to read and debate on it and not force them to just vote for it.

all well and good smokers, but i can get allergies off a cigarette at 30 yards outside in the wind...where were you about my rights to breathe when the shoe was on the other foot?? do you also smoke in the same room as kids and tell them to move instead?? some folks just don't get that the health issues are more than just someone else's ... Read Morepreferences, and have real consequences to other people.
i hope i can enjoy the 2-5 more years i'm going to statistically live than if i smoked, (even if i could stand it!) and for the bottom line folks...people who smoke are almost assuredly going to have problems with their heart and lungs over their lifetimes...normally about the time their private health insurance peters out...if you're lucky enough to have any...so who picks up your cancer specialist's or cardiologist's bill by then or if you can't pay??? I could have written a 1 page bill and all it had to mention was usury rates should be capped at 15%.
Why are so many bills is congress so convoluted?

The tie-in approval of loaded weapons in our National Parks is scary. The first time your hear of gun violence in a National Park, think of your legislator who approved reform on your credit card bill at the expense of gun violence.

Travis at 9:57pm May 22
Yeah, because guns are so horrible and wrong to ever own and use. Wouldn't America be so much better off if guns were never invented? Over and over we've heard that consumers should act responsibly when it comes to credit cards. I agree -- but it's time we held credit card companies to the same standard.

Good Session, Diana. From Corporatism to Syndicatylism.. that whole space and inbetween is certainly vying to get more priority than the democratic constitutional ideals; thats the crime to be prevented. Those who favor free market can be tried for treason with the correct application of law against violent/arrogant deregulation propaghanda.

We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to end the abusive and predatory practices of the credit card companies.
Scott at 1:37pm April 30
The credit system is broken. The credit card companies are the largest part of most peoples' good credit, so not to participate is suicide, and yet they can arbitrarily raise the rates on responsible customers without any sort of negative marks in their history. I for one am tired of getting jerked around.
Gayle at 9:46pm April 30
Senator Dodd: You worked with my husband, Robert S. Garrett, SBA, Hartford..in the mid 1980's. Credit card companies are predators. Whatever happened to truth in lending?

Chris Dodd "Chris is going through a rough patch," Obama said. "He just has an extraordinary record of accomplishment, and I think the people in Connecticut will come to recognize that. . . . He always has his constituencies at heart, and he's somebody I'm going to be relying on and working very closely with to shepherd through the types of regulatory reforms we need."

Don't mind what the no folks have to say -- Senator Dodd -- you're the best.

Sen. Dodd is a good man that has accomplished so much for our country and will continue to do so. If I were in CT I would proudly vote for you.

By the way Senator Dodd on Bush's Supreme Court nominees, which I am no fan of either. I am disappointed in you for voting for John Robert's conformation but I am also proud of you for voting against Samuel Alito's conformation.

RECENT ACTIVITY

Chris Dodd "The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which has been struggling in the absence of ailing Chairman Ted Kennedy, has put out a full version of a health reform bill that solves many of the problems of its earlier versions and trial balloons. This amounts to enormous progress, largely creditable to Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd, who has taken the helm of the committee in Kennedy's stead."
