@ City of Arvada - Thank you for the response. The time shown on FB is approximately the time that it showed up on my feed. I do appreciate your efforts to use multiple and alternative ways to communicate with your citizens. My purpose in posting this was just to provide some feedback to you about the effectiveness of this particular method in this particular case. The notices that were posted about the Simms St. road closure did get posted in a timely manner and was most appreciated.

Jodi, you are correct about the event in Olde Town. Trick-or-Treat Street is where local merchants welcome little ghosts and goblins on Friday, October 30th from 5 pm to 7 pm. In general, I think it is safe to assume neighborhoods will be celebrating Halloween on the traditional day which is Saturday, October 31.

Erik, we are definitely doing that as well (http://twitter.com/cityofarvada). Facebook and Twitter both have their advantages. Currently, our focus on electronic communication mediums include: our main city website, Facebook, Twitter, and our Notify Me service. However, any system is only useful when there are people listening on the other end. The added benefit of Facebook and Twitter is that we can actually interact and listen to folks like you.
