I agree with antonio, the job of the press is to report and educate the people to inform them in an Unbiased manner so that we the people can act accordingly politically.

its the foundation of our government and the press has sold out dropped the ball, just like jackson knew they would. the wealth is too concentrated, the system has NOT been expanded as it is supposed to be to account for the growth of the market.

Keynes is spinning right now, because they are screwing up his system.... See More

With all respect to John King, how could he and James Carville allow Mary Matalin make the comment that President Bush inherited 9/11 and a recession while the facts are so much to the contrary. That was poor journalism on his part. I can understand Mr. Carville not wanting to embarrass his wife but she does not seem to show the same courtesy to him.

The disingenuous or false statements made by Team Obama and collaborating members of Congress, to transform the critique of the Bill into praise and gratitude by the public, are sickening and demoralizing. Their credibility can not be raised by constant repetition by increasing number of protagonists. Unfortunately many hosts who were challenging the falsehoods head on are doing so less and less, perhaps because they are getting tired and increasingly resigned to inevitability of a flawed bill. However this technique can not work because it will be very hard to create a collusion involving millions of progressives and independents. It is too bad that many defenders want to be trusted because of their eons of experience in the Washington scene, which has not even helped them develop enough intellectual honesty to recognize this basic concept. Some of the most egregious half truths going unchallenged are:

1) Subsidies and exchanges etc start in 8014, thus all this sobbing about 45k dying is at best crocodile tears. If true ED we should not be talking any other topic at all. Do you not want to see how can we stop these deaths immediately?

2) Insure 31M (not 47M) by 2019, not exactly a crash program, is it? Why do they not point out that tax payer money will be squandered on high bone crushing premiums (and more than proportionately higher subsidies) which are projected to grow 111% by Ins Industry's own estimates.... See More

3) No clear description of what new alternatives, which provide the same cost lowering and competition as the Public Option, have been created and which were not present in Obama Campaign's Health Care plans.

4)Ban the insurance denial based on pre-existing conditions. Bu the differential of older people with pre-existing conditions can be upto 300% in the Senate Bill and 200% in the House Bill. The same number is 20% in Vermont state regulation. At this number people higher than 400% poverty level will not find it affordable. For those eligible for subsidies, tax payer will be hit for obscenely high amounts.

I would honestly for this year alone give President Obama a B+ because he held this country together all throughout 2009 when nobody else except Hillary could. Im so proud of President Obama and First Lady Michelle they are the first family we truly can be proud of in this country. President Obama has saved the auto industry, the housing market, he... See More also passed a stimulus package that put money back into the economy, finally the economy is showing signs of relief and what a Christmas present the United States received today with the passage of health care today. I love the change that is occurring in our country, come 2010 its time to start to stand behind our President and thank him for holding this country together, Thank you and Merry Christmas President Obama and Have a Happy New Year 2010!

In the proposed Health Care Reform bills, subsidies and exchanges etc do not start until 8013/8014. Apparently all the tears being shed by President and the Dems on the Hill about the 45000 Americans dying every yr are at best crocodile tears. Shouldn't the President have declared a National Emergency to stop this tragedy which is equal to 15 911's in human toll.

Dawn.....good thought.....all roofing material would not only be collecting the Heat from the Sun....but also directing that SolarHeat to a collection system then to an energy grid. If one thinks about it, the Sun cooks most roofs and building walls, and we consumers have to pay power companies to Cool our homes. I guess most of our roofs would... I am a voting republican from South Carolina.
I just watched you (Lindsey Graham) on the State of the Union with John King of CNN. You South Carolina republicans; US representatives are pathetic. You had eight years and you did nothing for the poor whites and African Americans who are on Medicare and are without health care. Your completely ... See Moreignored the Education of your state poor whites and black citizens, yet you have the twisted audacity to whine about Ben Nelson. God bless Nebraska. Because while Ben Nelson was negotiating you and Jim DeMint was yapping about some damn “Waterloo”. Wow! And I am a republican with common sense. Something that you two lack. It’s called capitalism; you have to get in the game and take something from it for your constitutes. You can complain about it later, but at least you get something for your constitutes. Both of you have nothing to show for the great citizens of South Carolina that either of you negotiated from this healthcare bill. Whining and Bitching on CNN is “nothing”. We voted for each of you to bring home tangible and meaningful services, expenditures and/or “bacon” back home. Something! Both of you failed us, period!

Joe Lieberman and Susan Collins did a Hypocrisy filled news conference. The jackass Lieberman (the lying ex-Donkey) lied through his teeth. Dismissed September Interview. Democrats must expose this liar. The liar also had the gall to claim credit for the high quality bill and Susan Collins in the tow called him a hero who ... See Moreimproved the bill by his principled approach. Lieberman also put the Dems under the bus saying they were doing things just for the heck of it and ideological purposes. I suggest that if the Dems do not use reconciliation and keep kowtowing, they do not deserve the majority. They must be punished for lack of balls.

With all due respect, I would strongly recommend that you read my book. Your words, though I'm sure very sincere and genuine, are really way off base. I obviously agree that there aren't enough Primary Care Doctors. But "licensing" has nothing to do with it. I can assure you of that! In NY State at least (probably much less restrictive everywhere else), all you need is $400.00 and to simply fill out a form answering "No" to all the questions about whether you've been convicted of a felony, thrown off a hospital staff for wrongdoing, etc. No follow-up or investigation done after that; just a license registration received in the mail. All the State wants is the money!

The real answers why there is a trend towards more Nurse Practitioners and why Primary Care Docs (like I used to be for 15 years) are leaving it all behind are "spelled out" in my book. Remember, I priced it to break even; so this is not a simple sales pitch. You seem to be the perfect candidate to read the book (like most people actually because they all seem to have reasonable perspectives; just not the right one!).
