Jon Cohen Photography

Bio:

Art and Photography have influenced Jon throughout his whole life. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Jon started playing with cameras at a very young age. His passion for art and photography was fed by an upbringing in a very culturally aware family who filled his home with art from many well-known artists.

Jon’s talent in art was noticeable at a very young age. In Grade 2, he participated ...in creating a hand drawn book of G. I. Joe characters, which found its way to Hasbro Inc. and then into production. Following that, Jon continued to draw, take lots of pictures, and began to paint. His talent once again shined as he was awarded top of his class in watercolor painting. Following his Grade 11 year, Jon went on to learn Photoshop and began to understand digital media. Jon created his first website in 1994 and has been doing basic web work ever since.

A few years later, Jon moved to Toronto, Ontario to study photography at York University. While learning on an old Richo SLR film camera (from 1977) Jon learned all there was to know about film photography. Finally, in 1999, Jon bought his first digital camera (4MP point and shoot), but decided a few years later to go back to the SLR camera body. Now with a digital SLR, Jon takes thousands of pictures a month and, as of 2008, Jon began to sell his work. There has been a great response.
