    • Lynne Temple I would like to slap those who have no reason, other than they are big fat chickens, to get a colonoscopy after 50. I was diagnosed with Stage III rectal cancer at age 39. A polyp found in early stage can prevent this deadly disease. Those who fail to get this preventative test should be kicked in the behind.

    • Colleen M. Campbell Carter I agree......and also diagnosed with cancer at 46. No symptoms. Just run of the mill test. Thank God I did it. Not fun but sure beats having my stomach sliced open for surgery! I will now have one every year No Matter What!

C3: Colorectal Cancer Coalition If you exhibited colorectal cancer symptoms before you were diagnosed,
did you bring them to your doctor's attention? Did he/she immediately
recommend a colonoscopy or other type of diagnostic test?

It is important that anyone at any age who has symptoms of colorectal cancer be fully evaluated with a colonoscopy to rule out cancer. Watching and waiting is not an acceptable option. Remember that colorectal cancer can be present without any symptoms at all, so screening is important to find canc...

My sister died of colon cancer in October, 2009 after fighting it for 3 1/2 years. I wish we were told more about it and how to handle the situation. We had to find out everything by ourselves by going on the Internet and asking questions t...hat a lot of the doctors just rolled their eyes at. My sister's stoma was prolapsed and no one warned us that this could happen. More information has got to be given including the kinds of ostomy bags that can be bought and where. This disease should not be a guessing game for the patients and loved ones.See More

My handicap brother died after being diagnosed with Colon Cancer because it was missed and when they did the Ileostomy and blood transfusion the hospital gave him sepsis! They killed them so quick it was like lightning!! I still cry from re...calling the agonizing pain he had and he could not talk. Just recently his Autopsy report showed he was having several neurologicl problems due to the sepsis. This MRSA was worst than the Colon Cancer. I cry for all of you after reading your stories whether you have lived thru it or a family member has. Our brother died in our arms and it was Horrific!!!!!!I miss my brother terribly and my eighty year old mom has lost it!!! All that e needed was a Colonoscopy but NONE of his MANY doctors EVER suggested it!!! Every symptom pointed to Colon Cancer and nothing was done but he was sent home. If we cant get answers from the Medical Community then who will give us these answers?? I spent countless hours wasted on research instead of spending time with him!!!!I despise all the blood sucking people who are in the Oncology Industry and are plain ole callous sons of guns. I too had Cervical Cancer and I had a wonderful doctor but he has since run away from this city because people here are too cut throat and DONT care unless Cancer is knocking on their door tonight!!! I wish I could hang a banner of my dead handicap picture outside of Memorial Sloan Kettering, Johns Hopkins and so forth because there callousness killed him! There is a cure but we are just NOT privy to it!!! See More

        • Connie Spratt In reading Giving Chase, the scene that popped into my head was my Doc, as he was removing organs and cutting away parts chasing after some perp that could be running and hiding in crevices unseen. It is complicated..Miiracles happen and are preformed everyday..I count my Blessings, thank my Lord. continue to pray Godspeed for a cure.
