Through a cooperative effort of Texas' donor centers, the 2009 Circle of Life Bike Tour kicked off on October 3 and will run through October 10 to raise awareness of the need for life-saving donations of blood, marrow, organs and tissues.

For my son's 16th birthday, he knew he had to donate blood before being allowed to get his driver's license. He is now almost 18 and just ordered his first gallon coffee mug. I hope donating has developed into a lifetime habit already.
