Ryan Shenk looking to replace the fishman in my legacy AE - thinking either iMix onboard or BBand A10 - both are retrofits. recently heard a B-Band in a very average Ibanez and it was beautiful! anyone have a thought? I love my CA!

have you checked aut an aura dreadnaught pedal? its probably less work, about the same price, and the sound is pretty remarkable.

thanks for the thought. I had the first Aura pedal, b/c I saw they had a setting modeled on a CA. but it still had the fundamental Fishman character (which I'm trying to get away from) and I'd like to avoid the digital stuff unless absolutely necessary.

Composite Acoustics Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! 2009 was a good year for CA in many ways, and a very rough year in other ways. I'm sure many folks around the world can say the same. Bottom line is that I'm glad we have made it through 2009 and can say that we are a stronger company than we were in 2008. I'm lookin...g forward to 2010 and hope that it is a great year for all of you. Thanks for your support! Larry

COT HG Blade? Nice idea.

Electric and an acoustic bass. We will only build an acoustic bass if we can create something head and shoulders above anything else out there.

Jacob hi- im a huge fan and just bought a raw cargo. what seems to be the pest pickup system for amplifying it? also, are there any plans in the works for a more conservatively-styled electric? thanks.

Thanks Jacob. We install the L.R. Baggs Element in the Cargo when ordered with electronics. Seems to work well. In regards to the electric, we are currently working on a number of variations on our Blade body. Paint and trim differences give it a more conservative look. We are currently not working on any major body style differences. Possibly in the future.

okay thanks for the input. just throwing it out there, a small bodied electric counterpart to cargo ala rick turner model 1 would be very, very cool.

My esteemed pleasure. You guys seem to have broken the code. You make a highly playable, durable, great sounding, economically sensitive instrument. I have seen your videos. It is very rare that you run across a product line that is THIS well thought out. I would love to be on your marketing team. With my expertise and newly acquired respect and enthusiam I have for CA, this would be a cakewalk for me. I wish you continued success.

His name is Erick. Funny story...he loves to play our guitars. He goes from a Martin, to a Larrivee, and just strums and laughs. One day, I opened up the case for the Taylor and he looked in and said, "No goot, grandpa, no goot". Translated, "No good old man, no good".

I closed the case and we went back to playing the Martin. Hopefully he will like the CA Legacy. I feel a lot more at ease with him playing the CA rather than the Martin...

Blindsided Poets

Blindsided Poets So stoked about the new Blade, and finding you on facebook! Been waiting a long time for an electric CA. Had 2 CA's shipped up to Long & McQuade in Canada before they carried them. Bought the COT Legacy instantly and urged them to carry it nation wide, glad they listened because it's the best sounding guitar for the mo...ney, even thousands more! Sounds great plugged in, even better mic'd. Anyone interested listen to our vids, the live to tape ones are plugged in, the other 2 are mic'd.

Woody Wolfe

Woody Wolfe I am confused over models. I own 3 CA's; a Legacy Player; a 12 string and the other is called a Performer Series 8. It is the last one that is confusing me. I'm trying to buy a Calton Case and they have templates for CA guitars but don't list this one. HELP!

Woody, we basically have four body styles: the dreadnought (Legacy), the GX style cutaway, the OX style cutaway, and the Cargo. Your Legacy and 12 string fits in our standard dreadnought case, and your Series 8 will either fit in the standard dreadnought case or the case for our GX style (if you have a cutaway Series 8).

Sorry about the confusion. We changed our model naming convention a year ago and moved away from Series numbering.

Thanks for playing CA!

Steven

Steven Is there any way to find out which CA dealer has the largest stock of CA guitars? It is really tough to decide on one without being able to visit and play a few models side by side. It would be worth a road (or air) trip to that retailer.

Unfortunately there is not. Dealers are independent businesses. Contacting individual dealers is the only way to find out what they have available for trial.

Matthew Boyle

Matthew Boyle Walked into my local Sam Ash today to get some guitar strings. Decided to fool around with a few guitars and the sales man showed me the Blade. Fell in love with it and within five minutes walked out the door with it.

Amazing guitar. I recently bought a Rainsong acoustic made of carbon fiber, so this adds to the carbon fiber collection!

Tom Suhar

Tom Suhar How about a short scale acoustic bass? The niche would be similar to the one you have with the cargo where you have a unique offering. I happen to be a short scale bass player (Fender Mustang and Danelectro longhorn). I'd love to have a 30" scale acoustic bass with an offset sound hole and electronics. CA composite... materials and construction would be the icing on the cake.

I love playing a short scale bass also. Next year is the year of the bass for CA (acoustic and electric). Short scale will definitely be part of the exploration.

Sweet! I dig the composite approach to bass but since I switched to short scale the pair of Modulus basses sit in the closet. Electric and acoustic....very cool. You guys rock!
