The Concordia Choir is widely considered one of the world’s premier undergraduate vocal ensembles that tours the world, sings for royalty and garners praise from critics. The 72-voice choir continues to affirm its reputation as one of the nation’s finest a cappella choirs and a leader in interpreting and advancing the Lutheran choral tradition.

The choir’s long and distinguished history dates back to its beginning in 1920. The group has performed in nearly every major hall in the United States including Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center.

Along with serving as a focal point for the annual Concordia Christmas Concert, The Concordia Choir’s renowned reputation was further enhanced in 2003 when it performed conductor Dr. René Clausen’s composition MEMORIAL at Lincoln Center and Riverside Church in New York City.

The choir has toured extensively throughout Europe and was recently featured on a BBC radio show broadcast across the United Kingdom. It has also performed for the King and Queen of Norway and sung with The King’s Singers. The choir’s recordings are distributed nationwide making it one of the top-selling college choirs in the United States.

While I never asked Kyle for his permission, I’m hoping he won’t mind that I’m sharing his email (and Dr. Clausen’s) with the blog audience Dear Choir, As you already know, the Fargo-Moorhead community is in desperate need of help with sandbagging for the current flood situation...
The Concordia Choir
I have sung the words “I know that I have been blessed again and over again” countless times during many wonderful concerts with The Concordia Choir, but now as I sit here back in the wonderfully frigid Moorhead, Minnesota after a fantastic tour, I truly understand and feel the meaning of...

The choir decided to leave Hawaii with a bang by throwing a cookout party at a park by the ocean our last night in Maui. The meal was organized by Team Awesome, which consisted of Grant Vanderford, Michael Schaefer, Mackenzie Kane, Alyssa Gronewald, Brittany Gronewald and me, Katie Bleskacek...

Robert C. Johnson Sounds and looks like you had a great tour. Congratulations! B.J. Johnson

Ron

Ron As a bass from the 1957-60 choir, I welcome this Facebook opportunity. Now I can keep track of you the way I keep track of our grandchildren. I found the photos from the '58 Europe tour gripping in a score of ways, just as 50-year old voices sing out to me from my iPod. It will be fun hearing from alums of that ensemble.

The Concordia Choir is back from an amazing tour, time to unwind

Dale Lammi

Dale Lammi Having not missed hearing the Concordia Choir since I was a freshman, or "first year student" at Concordia, that would be forty years in-a-row, it will be good to hear the choir at their home concert at 4:00 p.m., this afternoon in Moorhead in the gym. Okay, Memorial Auditorium. There is a rumor that we only need about 55 million $ for a concert hall, which would include an endowment for up keep. Something to think about for future generations of Cobbers, singers, and musicians alike. Then we could bail them out of the gym! Soli Deo Gloria!!!
