Polly Johns

Polly Johns I have loved watching the episodes. These young women have such a heart for the Lord and the people of the DRC. My daughter saw them speak at an overflow meeting at UNC Wilmington and we have all been fans ever since. You can't help but catch their vision.

Congocast.org is an very interesting and compassionate piece of media that seems that in the “Youth for Peace and Conflict Resolution” dossier on the CitizenShift website http://citizen.nfb.ca/youth-peace-and-conflict-resolution . I am a member of CitizenShift http://citizen.nfb.ca. It is an interactive website where y...ou can upload and explore social issues through video, audio, photos, blogs. It is nice to see that there are youth who have taken to such an important cause. Hopefully you can find on CitizenShift some inspiration from youths who have addressed social issues through media. You can also join the CitizenShift group on Facebook.Read More

The situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo is dire and can seem overwhelming – but there is one very important thing that all of us can do – we can pray.

WHAT IS THIS "MAOMBI MISSION?"

The word "Maombi" is the swahili word for prayer. We believe that prayer is the front line of change for the things happening t...o the people of DR Congo. Prayer is a way that we can stand in unity with the Congolese people as they continue to work through the issues troubling their nation. From April 27th - May 3rd we will be hosting a week of prayer for the DRC online through the Congocast project.

HOW DO YOU PARTICIPATE?

The goal of the Maombi Mission project is to establish a time of unceasing prayer during the week of April 27th - May 3rd for the DR Congo. You can sign up for half hour time slots that you commit to pray during by visiting www.congocast.org/maombimission

HOW DO YOU PRAY FOR 30 MINUTES???

You may think that praying for a half hour seems daunting - what will you pray for? Many of the people who participated with us last time saw that their half-hour actually stretched longer once they got started! To help you with your prayer time - we have provided a list of things that you can pray for through the sign up page. Additionally, all of the Congocast episodes are available online at www.congocast.org/episodes.php to help you see the issues facing the DR Congo.

We hope that you will participate in this amazing project with us and also pass it along to your friends and family as we try to fill this coming week with prayer for the DRC. Thank you again for your help!
