The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) is comprised of 24 Members of Congress of Hispanic descent. The Caucus is dedicated to voicing and advancing, through the legislative process, issues affecting Hispanics in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus This is the 2nd of two speeches the Senator gave on the Senate floor supporting Judge Sotomayor's nomination.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Senator Patrick Leahy, Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, discussed a letter sent by 4 Members of the CHC, Congressmen Joe Baca, Solomon P. Ortiz, Silvestre Reyes, and John T. Salazar, to the National Rifle Association. In the letter, the Members say that the NRA is holding Judge Sonia Sotomayor to a different standard then other nominees to the Supreme Court.
I represent the people of El Paso, Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. I spent more than 26 years in the U.S. Border Patrol before serving in Congress. I am also a Vietnam-combat veteran.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus The Congressional Tri-Caucus, comprised of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Congressional Black Caucus, and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, along with the Congressional Progressive Caucus, stood together to demand that any Health Care Reform include a robust public coverage option.
