Very! We live on 5 acres and strive to be self-sufficient. Even when processing our own chickens, we have found a purpose and use for everything (including beaks and feathers!)that chicken gave us...I believe that people have no remorse for wasting food (animal or vegetable) when they have no stake in how it was grown and harvested or what it took ... See Moreto get there on the plate. When a child comes to visit us, and we have them work in the garden to pull some weeds and water, etc; then harvest the produce and bring it in the house; then clean it and prepare it - it is amazing to watch their perspective change about then "throwing out" their hard work. Its like watching little light bulbs go off...
