Please cleanup. This is about the COP15, not about some Texan realizing his backyard is colder than usual on a specific date. Thanks.

every time we turn the key on a combustion engine, it is simultaneously an act of suicide, homicide and, sadly, a systemic and historical necessity. C02 levels are so far beyond historic geologic highs that it's improbable that humanity can restore the balance, even with rapid and drastic effort. This is the task set before our leaders: to ... See Morecollaborate in an attempt to outpace population growth and simultaneously do that while reducing C02 emmissions and creating a sustainable and non-polluting civilization. It has to happen over the next 20-40 years. It's also possible it's already too late.

a meat based diet affects:
--Quantity and quality of water supply
--World forests
--Amount of fossil fuel consumed
--Human health

- Albert Einstein

big yahoo to you ,Mark for leading the discussion in this direction. My Big Picture outcome of all that is happening, is the wake up to how utterly dependant we are on the wellbeing of every country,as in one goes down the gurgler and, eventually, we all go down. This level of interdepen/dance gives me thought that all the mega bux that goes into ... See Moreprotecting and defending our hoard against the hordes, could be nicely channelled into share tactics.....just a particular big, openhearted pig I'd like to see flying..... IMAGINE THAT!!!

Juan,as a writer in my country has said, the issue of what/who is causing...is a distraction.......one that will wasteprecioustime energy arguing/blaming.. till the cows come home.....rather than....considering and determining a non partisan global effort to create real social justice, real life quality for all beings. We know that the TechnoIndusrialisedMass Consumer Culture has gotten two thirds...More? ...of the worlds popultion exactlyNOWHEREfurther than it was in our GREAT GREATplus, grandparents day.....THIS is not the progress,as the industrial revolutionists predicted....
.since the means to achieve it, were/are...same ol.... same ol....
slavery...of people and/or their wealthy land.

Changing this mindset of grab/profit to heartset of share/restore is the deeper issue, theeeee hardest challenge.... See More
.and since it's not yet even recognised mainstream.. the outcome of CO15 may not be as hoped for..
THUS, WE, me and you, and our friends, neighbours, community, join globallyagain, next 350 action, on the 12th Dec to send light and BIGHEARTEDNESS of heart to the participants in Copenhagen.... to understand that it's not about the survival of their own nation, but that the survival of their nation depends on the wellbeing of all nations. LoL, Samma

............Speaking from Geneva, Dame Pauline said: “I am obviously honoured and also humbled by my appointment. There has never been a greater need for increased international co-operation than now. Whether you look at the climate threat, the global economic situation or international understanding, almost all of the world... See More’s most pressing issues need co-operation to help sort them out. My role will be to promote co-operation, both economic and social, to help bring about positive change for all people and for all countries.”.........

Is anyone looking into the quality of the forthcoming agreements? At http://unfccc.wikidot.com/forum/t-197632/vi-par-2-3 I conjecture that the capacity building approach is flawed. And others have been pointing at regulatory gaps between Montreal and Kyoto Protocol. Are these being addressed?
Start now to understand the agreements, and give your view at: http://unfccc.wikidot.com/
